Vivecraft Epic Fight Compatibility Patch

Overview

Vivecraft Epic Fight Compatibility Patch is a small, unofficial compatibility add-on created to address an issue that can occur when using Vivecraft together with Epic Fight.

This project is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially supported by the developers of Vivecraft or Epic Fight.

In a Vivecraft VR environment, certain Epic Fight attack animations are designed to move the player forward through root motion. However, the animation could play without actually moving the player character. As a result, lunging attacks, advancing strikes, and other movement-based animations remained almost completely stationary.

This mod was created specifically to restore that missing movement.

For a more comfortable and visually consistent first-person VR experience, using this mod together with the following companion mods is recommended:

  • Vivecraft Epic Fight Camera Offset

  • Vivecraft Epic Fight Item Render Fix

These companion mods are not required for the root-motion fix itself, but they address separate visual and camera-related issues that may occur when using Vivecraft and Epic Fight together.

Important VR Motion Warning

This mod can cause the VR camera to move rapidly and aggressively during attack animations. It may be extremely uncomfortable for players who are sensitive to motion sickness.

Because the camera follows Epic Fight’s movement-based animations, attacks may cause sudden forward movement, shaking, or other intense camera motion.

Stop using the mod immediately if you experience symptoms such as:

  • Motion sickness

  • Dizziness

  • Nausea

  • Eyestrain

  • Headaches

  • Disorientation

  • General discomfort

Do not continue playing through discomfort. Take a break from VR, and discontinue use of this mod if the symptoms return.

Use this mod carefully and at your own risk.

What This Mod Does

The mod allows Epic Fight’s attack-related root motion to be processed correctly while playing in Vivecraft VR.

It does not replace Epic Fight’s animations or add new combat moves. Instead, it applies a compatibility adjustment so that movement already defined by Epic Fight can function as intended.

In practical terms:

  • Attack animations that are supposed to move the player can move the player again.

  • Forward-moving strikes and lunging attacks are no longer forced to remain stationary.

  • Epic Fight’s original movement distance and collision handling are preserved as much as possible.

  • Vivecraft’s VR player position should follow the resulting movement naturally.

This mod is intended to address this specific root-motion compatibility problem. It is not a complete compatibility overhaul for every possible interaction between Vivecraft and Epic Fight.

Recommended Companion Mods

For the best overall experience, the following companion mods are recommended.

Vivecraft Epic Fight Camera Offset

This mod adjusts the first-person VR camera position while using Epic Fight.

When the player model is visible in first-person VR, certain attack animations may cause the camera to move into or too close to the player model. This can make the body or armor obstruct the player’s view.

Vivecraft Epic Fight Camera Offset is intended to reduce this visual interference by adjusting how the camera follows the player model during Epic Fight animations.

Because camera behavior and motion-sickness sensitivity vary between players, its configuration should be adjusted carefully.

Vivecraft Epic Fight Item Render Fix

This mod prevents the normal Vivecraft-held item from being rendered at the same time as the item attached to the Epic Fight player model.

Without this fix, weapons or held items may appear duplicated, overlap each other, or be displayed in incorrect positions when the first-person player model is enabled.

Vivecraft Epic Fight Item Render Fix is recommended when playing with:

  • Vivecraft

  • Epic Fight

  • The first-person player model enabled

  • Epic Fight mode active

These companion mods solve different issues and are not included directly in this patch.

Why This Mod Was Created

I created this mod because, in my own Vivecraft environment, Epic Fight attack animations played correctly but did not move the player character.

The issue appeared to be caused by the way Vivecraft handled player movement when Epic Fight attempted to apply root motion during an attack animation.

Because I could not find an existing solution for this specific problem, I created this unofficial compatibility patch with the assistance of AI tools.

Unofficial Add-on Notice

This mod is an independent and unofficial community project.

It is not developed, maintained, approved, or supported by the official developers of:

  • Vivecraft

  • Epic Fight

  • Minecraft

  • Mojang Studios

  • Microsoft

Please do not contact the developers of Vivecraft or Epic Fight for support relating specifically to this compatibility patch.

Use of AI

AI was used extensively during the investigation, analysis, coding, debugging, and development of this mod.

This project should therefore be considered an AI-assisted mod rather than a traditionally developed mod created entirely through my own programming knowledge.

I tested the mod in my own environment and confirmed that it appeared to restore the missing attack movement. However, different mod configurations, Epic Fight add-ons, Vivecraft versions, animation packs, servers, and other compatibility mods may produce different results.

Important Developer Notice

I am not an experienced programmer and do not currently have the technical ability to reliably diagnose or fix every problem that may occur.

I may be unable to provide support for:

  • Startup crashes

  • Mod conflicts

  • Compatibility with other Epic Fight add-ons

  • Compatibility with custom animation packs

  • Multiplayer synchronization problems

  • Issues involving different Minecraft, Forge, Vivecraft, or Epic Fight versions

  • Unexpected player or camera movement

  • World or player-data corruption

  • Problems caused by future mod updates

I apologize in advance if I am unable to resolve a reported issue.

Bug reports and logs may still be helpful, but submitting a report does not guarantee that the problem can be investigated or fixed.

Backup Warning

Always create a complete backup of your world before installing or testing this mod.

The backup should include, at minimum:

  • The entire world folder

  • Player data

  • Server data when playing on a dedicated server

  • Mod configuration files

  • Your current mod list

Do not test this mod for the first time in an important world without a working backup.

Although this mod is mainly intended to adjust client-side player movement, unexpected behavior may still affect player position, saved data, multiplayer synchronization, or other game systems.

Disclaimer

This mod is provided as-is, without any warranty or guarantee.

By installing or using this mod, you accept that you do so entirely at your own risk.

I am not responsible for:

  • Corrupted worlds

  • Lost items or player data

  • Broken saves

  • Unexpected movement or teleportation

  • Motion sickness, eyestrain, headaches, or other physical discomfort

  • Server problems

  • Mod conflicts

  • Crashes

  • Damage to game files

  • Any other loss or damage caused directly or indirectly by using this mod

Please create backups, test carefully, and stop using the mod if it causes discomfort or unexpected behavior.

Installation

  1. Install the supported version of Minecraft Forge.

  2. Install Vivecraft.

  3. Install Epic Fight.

  4. Place this mod in the client’s mods folder.

  5. Back up your world before launching.

  6. Test the mod in a temporary or disposable world first.

For a more complete first-person VR experience, installing the following companion mods is also recommended:

  • Vivecraft Epic Fight Camera Offset

  • Vivecraft Epic Fight Item Render Fix

These companion mods are optional and should be installed as separate mod files.

The mod has currently been confirmed to work as a client-side installation in the environment for which it was created.

A server-side installation may not be required, but multiplayer behavior should still be tested carefully.

Compatibility

This mod was created for a specific combination of:

  • Minecraft Forge 1.20.1

  • Vivecraft

  • Epic Fight

Other versions are not guaranteed to work.

Compatibility with Epic Fight extensions, custom animations, combat add-ons, or heavily modified player-movement systems is also not guaranteed.

The following companion mods are recommended and were created to address additional Vivecraft and Epic Fight compatibility issues:

  • Vivecraft Epic Fight Camera Offset

  • Vivecraft Epic Fight Item Render Fix

They are not dependencies of this mod, and this root-motion patch can be used without them. However, using all three mods together may provide a more consistent experience when the first-person player model is enabled in Vivecraft.

Because these mods modify different parts of the Vivecraft and Epic Fight experience, compatibility with other camera, first-person model, item-rendering, animation, or player-movement mods is not guaranteed.

Because this is an unofficial add-on, future updates to Vivecraft or Epic Fight may cause the mod to stop working.

Final Note

This project exists because Epic Fight combat felt incomplete in VR when movement-based attacks could no longer move the character.

The goal of this patch is simple:

Restore Epic Fight root motion when playing with Vivecraft VR.

For players using Epic Fight with the first-person player model enabled, combining this patch with Vivecraft Epic Fight Camera Offset and Vivecraft Epic Fight Item Render Fix is recommended for a more complete VR experience.
