Description

Void Pressure - Framework for Modpacks
Void Pressure turns your Minecraft world into something that responds. Every mob death adds tension. Every action nudges the world closer to its next state. At first nothing seems different — until it suddenly is. Void Pressure doesn’t tell you what should happen. It gives you the tools to decide when, how, and why the world pushes back.
What does it do?
Void Pressure tracks a single world-wide value called Pressure.
This value can:
- Increase when mobs die
(player kills and passive deaths can be balanced separately) - Optionally decay over time
- Be capped per minute to avoid farming abuse
- Trigger events, effects, or mob changes at specific pressure thresholds
The mod itself does not force any gameplay.
It simply provides the tools.
Event System (fully configurable)
You can define different types of events that react to pressure values.
Command Events
Run any Minecraft command when pressure reaches certain levels.
Perfect for announcements, titles, world changes, spawning structures, or custom logic.
Effect Events
Apply potion effects or attribute modifiers to players.
Useful for increasing tension, difficulty, or long-term consequences.
Mob Change Events
Modify mobs globally or selectively:
- Health
- Armor
- Speed
- Equipment
- Rules based on mob tags, categories, or specific entities
Events can:
- Trigger once
- Repeat at intervals
- Persist permanently
Pressure Altar
Void Pressure includes an optional Pressure Altar that allows players to actively reduce pressure.
- Sacrifice items to lower pressure
- Fully configurable offerings
- Optional XP cost
- Cooldowns supported
This makes Pressure a system players can interact with, not just suffer from.
In-Game GUI & HUD
Open the GUI with Shift + V No constant restarts required.
- Full in-game GUI for overview and configuration
- Shows current pressure and recent changes
- Optional HUD with movable position
- Trend indicator
- Configure everything without opening config files
Who is this mod for?
Void Pressure is designed for:
- Modpack creators
- Difficulty scaling systems
- Long-term progression or tension mechanics
- Skyblock, survival, challenge packs, or custom game modes
The idea originated in a Skyblock modpack, but works in any world type.
Current State
Void Pressure is currently in beta.
The core systems are stable and usable, but additional features and extensions are planned for future updates. There is still a long way to go before everything I want for this mod is implemented :)
