What Durability? Blacklist

An addon for What Durability? that lets you exclude specific items from its infinite-durability effect. What Durability? removes durability loss from every item with no way to make exceptions — this mod adds that missing piece, entirely in-game, no config editing required (though you can still edit the file directly if you prefer, and it applies instantly).

Requirements

• Minecraft Forge 1.20.1
• What Durability? (required — this is an addon, not a standalone mod)
• Collective (required by What Durability? itself)
• JEI (optional — enables blacklisting items straight from JEI's list)

How it works

What Durability? forces every item's durability to stay full. This mod hooks in ahead of that effect for any item on your blacklist, letting the item take real damage again — everything else keeps working exactly as before.

Controls

All keybinds are rebindable in Controls > What Durability? Blacklist.

To blacklist an item: open your inventory, press the mode-toggle key, hover the item (in a slot or in JEI's list), then press the add/remove key. Press it again on the same item to remove it. The same key adds and removes — it just toggles.

An on-screen indicator shows when edit mode is on, plus a short confirmation every time you add or remove something. It's drawn on top of everything else on screen — JEI's ingredient list, FTB Quests' inventory button, item icons, all of it — so it's never hidden.

Press the list-view key at any time to see everything currently blacklisted, with icons and names, in a scrollable screen.

Configuration

Two files in your config folder, both editable while the game is running — changes apply immediately, no restart needed:

• wdblacklist-common.toml — the blacklist itself, as a plain list of item IDs:

  blacklistedItems = ["minecraft:diamond_sword", "minecraft:shield"]

• wdblacklist-client.toml — display settings for the on-screen indicator:
  • position — one of TOP_LEFT, TOP_CENTER, TOP_RIGHT, MIDDLE_LEFT, CENTER, MIDDLE_RIGHT, BOTTOM_LEFT, BOTTOM_CENTER, BOTTOM_RIGHT
  • maxMessages — how many confirmation messages can stack on screen at once before the oldest gets cycled out (default 5)

Notes

• Singleplayer / LAN-hosted worlds only. The blacklist lives in memory shared between the client and the integrated server, so it applies immediately — there's no networking support for it to sync to players on a real dedicated server.
• Language support: English and Korean.
