About

Description

You know the item exists. You know you put it somewhere. That's all you remember.

Where Did I Put That? watches every chest, barrel, shulker box, and ender chest you open, remembers what's inside, and lets you search for an item to find your way back to it — a holographic waypoint marker points you straight to the nearest match, in-world, through walls.

Why this exists

Most storage-tracking mods need a server-side plugin or a server admin willing to install something extra. That's a non-starter on a vanilla SMP server, a Realm, or a friend's server you don't administer. WDIPT is 100% client-side. Install it locally and it works everywhere you already play — no server cooperation required, no permissions to ask for.

It's also built to survive how storage actually gets used, not just how it's supposed to be used:

  • Shulker boxes are portable, and WDIPT knows it. Pick a shulker up and carry it somewhere else — WDIPT reads its contents (the same data its tooltip already shows) and keeps tracking what's inside, instead of firing a false "this chest is gone!" alert every time you move one.
  • It tells you when its own memory might be wrong. An integrity sweep flags entries as stale after long enough untouched, and confirms outright when a tracked container is actually gone — so you're never trusting silently-rotting data.
  • Every recipe-viewer/tooltip integration is optional. JEI, REI, Jade, and Mod Menu all get real integration (search-bar-driven highlighting, in-tooltip contents, a proper settings screen) if you have them — but WDIPT's own search and browser UI work standalone if you don't run any of them.

Features

  • 🔍 Search & browse everything you've ever stashed, with live count/location results
  • 📍 In-world waypoint — a holographic marker + hotbar/inventory highlighting points you to the nearest match, visible through walls
  • 📦 Shulker-aware — tracks nested contents inside portable shulker boxes, one level deep
  • 🛡️ Ender chest support, with a badge showing when an item you're holding is already in your ender chest
  • ⚠️ Integrity sweep — flags stale entries and confirms when a container's really gone, no silent bad data
  • 🏷️ Free-form tagging with filter chips in the browser
  • 🛒 Shopping list — live "have X / need Y" combining tracked containers and your current inventory
  • 📊 Stats dashboard, JSON export/import between memory banks, per-region ignore zones
  • 🧩 Optional deep integration with JEI, REI, Jade, and Mod Menu — none of them required

Search Browser for remembered containers You can use this (default keybind tilde) to search for your items and place a in world hologram locator. If you have JEI/REI then you can use that instead!
