Description
Where Was I?
You open a world you haven't touched in two weeks. You're standing in a half-built room, your inventory is full of random junk, and you have absolutely no idea what past-you was doing.
Where Was I? fixes the oldest unsolved problem in Minecraft.
✨ What it does
Every time you rejoin a world or server, you get a friendly recap:
- ⏱ How long you've been away — "Last played: 12 d 3 h ago"
- 📍 Where you were — your last position and dimension, with the distance from where you're standing now
- ☠ Where you last died — so that gear you never recovered isn't lost to memory
- 📝 The note you left yourself — press
Nbefore logging off: "finish the farm roof, need 20 oak stairs". Future you will thank past you.
Press B any time to see the recap again. Keys are rebindable in Options → Controls.
🪶 Why you'll actually keep it installed
- 100% client-side. Works in singleplayer AND on any server — vanilla, modded, minigame networks. Nothing to install server-side, nothing to configure.
- Per-world memory. Every world and every server gets its own recap, stored locally as tiny JSON files.
- Stays out of your way. The recap only appears if you were gone 30+ minutes (configurable), and you can switch it to a compact chat summary instead of a screen.
- Featherweight. No mixins, no dependencies except Fabric API, zero performance impact.

❓ FAQ
Does it work on servers? Yes — it's entirely client-side, so it works everywhere you can log in.
Does it work with other mods? Yes. It only uses Fabric API events and adds two keybinds. No mixins, no conflicts.
Where is my data stored? Locally, in config/wherewasi/worlds/. Delete a file to forget a world.
Languages? English and 한국어 out of the box. Translations welcome!
