WILDBORNE
Where the wilderness comes alive.
A living wilderness. Forgotten creatures. Ancient secrets.
What if Minecraft's forests were hiding more than trees and animals?
Wildborne brings a touch of wonder to the natural world: reactive wildlife, secretive woodland communities that transform into living trees at night, ancient Mesoamerican elemental sanctuaries, and primordial guardians tied to the forces of nature.
Some disappear beneath the soil. Others disguise themselves as fallen logs or mossy boulders. A few only show themselves when the rain begins.
Look a little closer. The wilderness has been alive all along.
Wildlife of the Wilderness
Each encounter is shaped by instinct, weather, and environment.
Burrowing Deer
Gentle deer found in lush woodland clearings. When startled, they burrow underground, leaving only their branch-like antlers visible above the soil until the danger has passed.
Lantern Snail
A tiny, softly glowing inhabitant of humid forests and rainy days. It retreats into its shell when threatened and casts a warm bioluminescent glow. You can even place them in decorative 3D Lantern Snail Pots to light up your home.
Rainwalker — Peregrino Pluvial
A mysterious, vegetation-covered wanderer whose presence is closely tied to rainfall. On rainy days, the forest awakens visitors of its own.
Lichen Tortoise
A peaceful, slow-moving reptile whose shell nurtures patches of Living Lichen. Patient naturalists can harvest its lichen and shed plates without harming the creature.
Stoneback
A heavy, boulder-shelled creature that blends seamlessly into rocky terrain and mossy outcrops, curled tightly inside its armored carapace when danger approaches.
The Living Stumps (Tocones)
Not every log is just a log.
Hidden among roots and moss are small wooden beings with their own roles, traditions, and ways of surviving. By day they tend to their woodland clearings; by night, they take root in mossy beds and stack together into living three-block-tall trees to camouflage their village until dawn.
A Small Woodland Society
- Residents bring life, songs, and companionship to their woodland clearings.
- Foragers gather and trade seeds, saplings, and natural goods with friendly travelers.
- Artisans craft with forest resin and mend injured Root Guardians.
- Elders lead midday rituals around the central Root Brazier and bless the village protectors.
- Guards defend their community with shields, tactical strafing, and coordinated pack alerts.
- Scouts patrol the outskirts with bows and resin lanterns, keeping watch for danger.
- Root Guardians — Towering woodland golems that patrol Guardian Markers, shield the village, and empower nearby Tocon Guards.
Woodland Automata
At the Automaton Workbench, Artisans and players can assemble and program Automaton Stumps using specialized modules (Gardener, Forager, Carrier, Sentinel, and Autonomous)—helpful wooden companions that harvest crops, collect resources, ferry items, or guard your base.
Cinderwood & Forest Restoration
In some corners of the world, Corrupted Stumps and Cinder Guardians spread ash and blight around Dead Altars. Using Living Lichen, Botanical Mattocks, and Resin Lanterns, players can cleanse the corruption and restore the ancient altars back to life.
Ancient Elemental Sanctuaries & Bosses
Deep within jungles, coastlines, and windswept wilds lie overgrown Mayan-inspired temple ruins, ceremonial roads, stelae, cenotes, and hidden Sanctuary Chambers. Craft or trade for a Sanctuary Wayfinder Map to track down these rare ruins.
Three Primordial Guardians
- Primordial Bastion (Jade & Earth) — An ancient monolith of living stone and jade that commands seismic shockwaves and earthen barriers.
- Tide Bastion (Abyssal Current) — A prismarine temple guardian of the depths that bends whirlpools, crushing tides, and bubble prisons.
- Wind Bastion (Tempest & Sky) — A sandstone and gold sentinel of the gale that unleashes cyclones and aerial shockwaves.
Elemental Revival & Cross-Heart Reactions
- Elemental Second Chance: Falling in battle near a Bastion—or carrying one of their Elemental Hearts—triggers an Elemental Revival, displaying the Boss's Visage on screen and pulling you back from death with elemental power, followed by a temporary Elemental Toll debuff as your body recovers from the ancient energy.
- Rival Heart Resonance: Presenting the heart of a rival Bastion in front of another Boss provokes unique elemental reactions and empowerments.
Relics, 3D Armor & Flora
- Primordial Jade Glaive — A heavy ceremonial polearm capable of unleashing an Earthshatter Slam that damages, launches, and slows surrounding foes.
- Tide Harpoon — A prismarine-and-gold spear that fires a Riptide Vortex, pulling enemies inward or propelling its wielder through water and rain.
- Mossy Cuirass (3D Armor) — A sculpted living-bark and tortoise-carapace chestplate with a glowing jade core that grants passive regeneration, poison cleansing, and an active Living Bastion bark shield.
- Tempest Boots (3D Armor) — Winged Mayan sandstone-and-gold greaves that grant swiftness, negate fall damage, and unleash a Gale Leap mid-air.
- Sacred & Hazardous Flora — Discover Jade Ferns, glowing Sun Orchids, and carved Jade Sun Lanterns, alongside hidden jungle hazards like Venom Blooms, Bramble Snares, and explosive Cinder Blister Bulbs.
