Description

Wolverine: Weapon X

Become Logan. Bone claws that tear out of your knuckles, a healing factor that rebuilds you from the skeleton up, feral moves, wounds you can see heal in real time, and the classic yellow and blue suit.

Made by Zemo&Baki for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge), built on Zemo&Baki Core.

Getting the power

  • X-Gene Serum: craft it, inject it, and the mutation awakens: agony, the first bone claws rip out, a roar.
  • One Wolverine per world by default. Admins can turn this off.
  • Admins can also give the power directly with /zemobaki give.

Recipes

Item Recipe
Syringe (x2) Iron Ingot / Glass Pane / Iron Nugget, stacked in one column
X-Gene Serum Bone, Ghast Tear, Bone / Glistering Melon, Syringe, Glistering Melon / Bone, Golden Apple, Bone
Adamantium Serum Syringe + Adamantium Ore (shapeless)

Bone claws, then Adamantium

  • Every Wolverine starts with bone claws: rough, ivory, with their own sounds.
  • Adamantium Ore generates as rarely as diamond and needs an iron pickaxe.
  • Inject the Adamantium Serum and live through the bonding:
    • molten metal climbs the claws;
    • the whole skeleton turns to Adamantium;
    • damage and armor go up;
    • bullets ricochet off the metal bones.
  • Without a healing factor, the serum refuses to go in: the bonding would kill you.

Moves

There are 12 move keys on 3 pages, all rebindable through Zemo&Baki Core.

Move What it does
Claws Snikt. Claws out or in.
Lunge / Pounce A leaping lunge that homes in on your target.
Hunt A spinning dash of claws through everything in front of you.
Adamantium Defense Hold to parry with crossed claws.
Weapon X Ultimate: a pounding heartbeat, a feral dash, then an X slash.
Predator Senses Track footprints and scents, and see wounded creatures through walls.
Intimidation A roar that shakes everything around you.
Pound Town Leap onto a target, pin it and pound it.
Wall Climb Climb any wall with your claws.
Finisher An execution on a weakened enemy, different with bone and with Adamantium claws.
Pin & Maul Tackle a target onto its back and maul it while the key is held.
Berserker Barrage Fury only: an accelerating flurry, an X finisher, then you are exhausted.

These come on top of the 12 keys:

  • Counter: block an attack at the last moment, then press Defense again for a double thrust that stuns the attacker.
  • Wall Jump: jump while climbing to backflip off the wall, and dive onto an enemy if one is in sight.
  • Claw combat: a 6-hit chain, plus a charging strike while sprinting, a plunging strike while falling and a sweep while crouching.

Healing factor

  • Heals faster the more hurt you are. It is strong enough to stand up to a raging Hulk.
  • Purges poison, wither, hunger, nausea, blindness and darkness instantly.
  • Fire still burns, but you heal over it.
  • Death regeneration: a lethal hit doesn't kill you. The body rebuilds from the skeleton: bones knit, organs form, muscle grows, skin closes, and you stand back up.
  • Admins choose how death regeneration works: on a cooldown (default 20 minutes), infinite, or off.

Fury

  • Pain feeds your Fury, and the lower your health, the faster it fills.
  • When it is full you go feral: double damage, more armor, less damage taken. Steam rises, veins pulse and you hear your heartbeat.

Wounds you can see

  • The lower your health, the more torn up you look. It changes with every 1% of health, at random places.
  • You see real flesh, flat muscle, bones, and organs, including a beating heart through the ribs.
  • At very low health you can lose a hand (that side's claws disappear) or have an arm or leg skinned to the bone.
  • Everything grows back as you heal: bone, then muscle, then skin, with steam.
  • Arrows and bullets (including TACZ guns) leave real holes. The healing factor pushes them out and the holes close.

Wolverine suit

  • 4 armor pieces: Cowl, Suit, Leggings and Boots, in the classic yellow and blue with the X belt buckle.
  • 3D muscle relief, a cowl with real 3D fins, and fabric texture with stitched seams.
  • Wounds tear through the suit: blood-soaked edges, and scraps of fabric fly off. It closes back up as you heal and re-forms after a death regeneration.
  • Protection is about the same as iron armor. You can repair it with leather.
  • It also fits armor stands and zombies.

Feral passives

  • No fall damage, higher jumps, more health, natural armor.
  • Claws cut blocks:
    • bone claws slice wood, leaves and wool;
    • Adamantium claws also cut metal, glass, iron bars and rails, with sparks.
  • Wolf kinship: wild wolves never attack you. They follow you and hunt whatever you attack and whatever hurts you.
  • Animals flee while you are in Fury.
  • Enhanced smell: wounded creatures glow red through walls. Crouch to hear the heartbeats around you.

Effects

  • All custom effects, no vanilla particles. Blood is different for each mob type, and it splatters, drips, pools and leaves trails.
  • Claws get covered in blood. Claw swings leave blade trails, and there are dust and cracks on impacts.
  • Every move has its own animation, in third and first person.
  • All effects are made to look the same with Oculus / Iris shaders.

Admin commands (operator)

  • /wolverine status: show the world rules.
  • /wolverine oneperworld <true|false>: allow or block more than one Wolverine.
  • /wolverine regen infinite | off | cooldown [seconds]: choose how death regeneration works.
  • /wolverine holder release: free the X-Gene claim.
  • /wolverine rage max [players]: fill Fury.
