Wulf's Survival Essentials

A primitive survival overhaul mod that makes the early game feel more grounded. Swords and stone tools are removed from the crafting table — instead, you'll craft your way through a new set of primitive weapons and tools using materials found in the world.

Features

Plant Fiber

Harvest plant fiber by breaking any grass, fern, or grass block. There is a 35% chance to drop one on each break. Plant fiber is a core crafting material used across multiple recipes in this mod.

Flint Pickaxe

A primitive pickaxe crafted from flint and plant fiber. Mines at wood tier (stone, coal ore).

Flint Axe

A primitive axe crafted from flint and plant fiber. Chops wood... what more do you need?

Stone Spear

A primitive melee weapon with a longer reach than any standard weapon. This is a stone tier weapon with enhanced range.

Wooden Bucket

A primitive bucket that can scoop up water. Not as durable as the iron bucket, but craftable from the very start.

Recipe Removals

This mod removes the following vanilla recipes to encourage use of its primitive tools:

Stone Tools — Stone pickaxe, axe, shovel, and hoe are no longer craftable at the crafting table.

All Swords — Wooden, stone, iron, golden, diamond, and netherite sword recipes are removed. Use the Stone Spear instead.

Mod Compatibility

• Plant Fiber drops from any block tagged as wulfs_survival_essentials:plant_fiber_sources. Other mods can add their grass blocks to this tag for automatic compatibility.
• All mod items are registered under standard Forge item tags (forge:tools/pickaxes, forge:tools/axes, forge:tools/swords, forge:buckets/empty, forge:buckets/water) so other mods recognise them correctly.
