Because port forwarding is not an option right now, we need a way to connect to the server despite not having the port forwarded to broader internet access. ZeroTier (https://www.zerotier.com/) is a software that can do exactly this (see the docs overview for more information on what is happening between the host and your computer). Eventually this will not be necessary, but for the time being it is. MAKE SURE ZEROTIER IS INSTALLED IN 'C:\Program Files (x86)\ZeroTier'!

To access the MODPACK:

1. Install CurseForge (https://www.curseforge.com/) as a STANDALONE

2. Open CurseForge, and search for this modpack.  Alternatively, there is a link on the CurseForge website to install in the CurseForge app

3. Let the modpack install, then launch the game.  If you have connected to the network via ZeroTier, the server should now be accessible!  Even without ZeroTier, though, the server should still be visible in the list (just not connectable)

To access the SERVER (Windows) (until I can port forward it):

1. First, open notepad and paste the following into a file saved as "start_zerotier.bat" (DM me if you need the network ID).

zerotier-cli join [Network ID]

2. Take "start_zerotier.bat" and put it in a place you will not forget.  This program needs to be run everytime you attempt to join the server.

3. Once put in an appropriate place, right click it to edit it, then save as a batch file.  This makes it so the program will be run as an actual program, not some text to be edited.

4. WARNING: The program will not work unless ZeroTier is installed in the location mentioned at the top.

To access the SERVER (non-Windows):

1. Navigate to the zerotier installation in your file explorer

2. Open a terminal there

3. Run "sudo ./zerotier-cli join [Network ID]" (without the double quotes)

After all this has been set up, the server should be accessible!
