Required: Set Memory Settings in CurseForge to use at LEAST 6-8GB of ram. More may be required if you plan to use shaders.
It is recommended to install Optifine HD U G5 for 1.12.2 from https://optifine.net/downloads.
If it seems really choppy you can try turning off Animated Terrain in Video Settings > Animations when you have Optifine installed.
