Description
Welcome to Biohazard: Survival! This is an experimental semi-hardcore, survival pack, with a balance of tech and exploration with a focus on horror! Parasitic entities from the Scape and Run: Parasites mod. I made this pack for my friend group with everyone’s specific interests in mind. There is a careful balance between Tech, Exploration and Survival. Let’s go through some of the essential gameplay changes.
GAMEPLAY.
-Use of the Tough As Nails mod to add a Water/Temperature system.
-Ensure your water level is always full to avoid thirst and dehydration.
-Biome Matters! Hot biomes will overheat you. Cold biomes will freeze you.
-Health changes! Use of the Rough Tweaks mod ensures you must use bandages, salves, or other health items from the mod to heal as food will no longer heal you.
-Use of the Mo Bends mod for dynamic and unique looking player movement, as well as mobs too.
-Use the Better Diving mod for a unique aquatic experience or the Wall jump mod to add a level of parkour to your gameplay
-Use of Dynamic Surroundings mod for a better soundscape and visual level never before seen in MC
-Use of the Hardcore Darkness mod to enstill a feeling of dread when out at night. (Set HC Darkness config to level 1 to work with shaders, make sure to enable dynamic lights with Optifine)
-Serene Seasons! As time passes the seasons will change, causing more snow in Winter, more rain in Spring, etc.
-Zombie’s are smarter! The Zombie Awareness mod ensures that you bleed when zombies hit you, causing them to follow and pull other zombies in as well, and will be drawn to light sources.
-Camping Mod for those last minute setup’s in the forest.
- Bloodmoon! There is a 5% chance to trigger a Bloodmoon every night. Causing a massive increase in monster spawn rate.
EXPLORATION.
- A combination of Roguelike Dungeons, Recurrent Complex, Additional Structures, and the Ruins mod ensures Exploration is always interesting, dangerous, and rewarding.
- Quark and the Underground Biomes mod ensures that mining is never a boring task again.
- Yung’s Better Caves and Yung’s Better Mineshafts adds on to the previous mods to make sure caves are large, expansive, and rewarding.
-Biome’s o Plenty in combination with Open Terrain Generator and the Biome Bundle o Plenty pack creates beautiful terrain generation and unique environments.
(Set world type to OTG, level name to BBOP)
HORROR.
-The Scape and Run: Parasites mod adds an insanely detailed, evolving, level of detail to progression over time in Minecraft. Parasites have begun emerging in your world and over time will consume, assimilate, and grow throughout. With an accelerated grow rate, you must make sure your base is secure and safe. Make use of the Modular Turrets mod to help with this.
-The Harcore Darkness mod makes every night time encounter as terrifying as possible.
(If using shaders, in the shader options set ambient light: 0)
-Fish’s Undead Rising attempts to add some variation from the typical Parasites you will encounter and add a few passive mobs as well.
Tech, Progression, Survival.
I have hand selected what I think are tech mods that suit this collection well. Mods that make automation easier, and unlock new technology, without making life TOO easy. Use Mekanism and all its additions to make machines and tools to aid you. Buildcraft, AE2, Bigger Reactors, Powah, Wireless Redstone, Immersive Engineering and Immersive Petroleum are all enabled as well.
In Summary
I made this pack primarily for me and my friends. But is open to all. It is not a pack I will actively maintain, it is just a passion project. The pack is a WIP and may have issues or balancing/progression tweaks. My goal was to create a Mixed pack focused on Horror, with options for all types of players. There is a plethora of mods I didn’t mention and many QoL tweaks and fixes.
