BoilerPack

The BoilerPack is a Minecraft modpack made by and for students at Purdue University. It aims to curate a selection of mods appropriate for both newcomers and longtime modded Minecraft players without requiring a top-of-the-line machine to play.

Here are a few highlighted mods from the pack:

Worldgen:

• Biomes O' Plenty adds tons of new biomes in a continents-style map suitable for days of sailing and exploration.

Magic:

• Harness the magical powers in the stars with Astral Sorcery, or explore Thaumcraft's in-depth and comprehensive experience of casting, crafting, and transformation unmatched by any other mod.
• Expand your magic into the Dwarven realm with Embers Rekindled, or harness a more musical and natural power with Totemic.

Technology:

• Harness the power of the elements in your lab with Alchemistry, build a massive electronic storage network to connect your base with Applied Energistics 2, then power it all with whatever you choose from Immersive Engineering's beautiful reimagining of realistic technology mods in Minecraft.
• Put your programming skills to work with OpenComputers, or dive into more nature-focused tech with the tree- and bee-breeding and gene-editing of Forestry and Gendustry.
• Design and enhance your personalized set of tools with Tinkers Construct and several of its add-ons.
• And for a touch of nostalgia, Mekanism and Tech Reborn return to the classic feel of tech mods long past.

Exploration:

• Get lost in a maze of DimensionalDoors as you search for the materials to create your pocket dimension, or embark on an enchanting and hazardous adventure through the Aether.
• Investigate the countless randomly-generated dungeons already scattered across the overworld by Roguelike Dungeons.

Aesthetics:

• Take a break and enjoy the mist-filled morning in your forest base with Dynamic Surroundings, or listen to your footsteps loudly echo as you stomp through caves with Sound Filters.

Further mods improve basic Minecraft functionality, from JEI and its extensions to a host of performance-boosting mods.
