Description
Summary:
The goal was to have hand-picked mod list focused around Minecolonies, a world I could wander in, light RPG elements exclusively for fun, a prettier-than default aesthetic, and plenty of utilities to help improve building choices.
Stuff to do in this pack:
- Minecolonies is the star of this pack, for you to build your own colony of NPC villagers. You tell them what to do, they'll get to work. Your villagers will depend on you for food and resources until you have one of them doing that stuff for you.
- The world is full of other stuff too, with new biomes (o'plenty) and structures to explore!
- You start with one spare life. You can regenerate more times by finding old fob watches in dungeon chests. (Timelord rule #1: don't regenerate indoors, fire's bad.)
- Gain buffs through your experience and Inventory Pets.
- Werewolves, blood moons, and heroic weaponry, oh my!
- Plenty of building and aesthetics mods, focusing on everything looking nice and cohesive.
- Everything is as strongly optimised and forward-compatible as possible so you can fly your airship or drive your CrayCar (TM not registered) without losing 90% of your framerate.
A warning about Optifine: I've had problems running it with this pack. Due to how it alters rendering, certain mods are made unstable. Please do not try to go to the devs of any of the mods in the mod list and complain about stuff not working with Optifine. If you really need a boost, I recommend adding Better FPS or other Forge mod-friendly optimisation mods.
RAM recommendations: A relatively light mod list but with hefty mods like Minecolonies and Biomes o'Plenty means this pack dev recommends 3 or 4 GB RAM allocation for the best experience when you establish a colony.
Multiplayer: Build-a-ville is theoretically multiplayer friendly, but I haven't been able to properly test this. If you do, please tell me your results. I'd love to hear them!
What you will need to do is use the Forge server installer matching the version in the pack (available at files.minecraftforge.net), install the pack through Twitch, copy the mod and config folders into your server folder, remove client-side mods, and you should be okay to play.
Feel free to comment about let's plays and stream series using this pack as I'd love to see and help share them! Your constructive feedback and any mod recommendations (though I may not always add them) are also appreciated. If you have a really neat colony built in this pack that you want to share, feel free to send screenshots or video footage of the world and show off a bit! I encourage you to share and spread your creativity :3
