Description

This is Chris' Quest, a compilation of 100+ mods designed to enhance the vanilla minecraft experience.  It is built with the intent of extending vanilla aspects of the game ( exploration, crafting and building ), rather than trying to make a whole new type of game.  This modpack will always include the latest and newest mods, as we specifically try not to include mods that have little development activity or are very old.  This means that bugs will actually get fixed!  Also, we optimize around lower end machines, so you will experience reasonable loading times and smooth FPS even on your laptop toaster.

This pack is aimed at being a friendly introduction to modded minecraft - if you're coming from vanilla there's no expectation of already having experience with a lot of mods.  Even if you're not, there is a lot of customization and plenty to explore.

Chris' Quest is focused on making an experience that is appealing to many different types of players - all coexisting on the same server.  A rewarding experience for builders, gatherer/explorers, farmers, crafters, and/or progression focused boss fighters - it's all there and you can pick and choose how you want to play the game.  Choose a tech path and build out giant factories to expand your base, dabble in the mystic arts to create spells and rituals, create beautiful builds using the many aesthetic mods, head out to explore dungeons and ruins looking for loot, start a colony and care for your citizens while they collect resources and build for you, or just enjoy making an expansive farm and working on your culinary skills.  No mod will force you into it, and everything is meant to be played at your own pace.

We aim to create an immersive experience, expanding on the things that made vanilla minecraft fun, while locking down tedious or unrewarding tasks wherever possible.  However, this doesn't mean that it's all  just given to you - you will have to work for convenience and efficiency, upgrading your systems as you progress.  This is not an automation based pack ( you won't find any quarries ), but there are of course many things you can still automate with the included mods ( and some ingenuity! ).  However the focus is more about empowering yourself, and there are many different ways to vastly improve your ability to reshape the world as you please.

Mods are integrated together well, with the idea that one mod should not simply obsolete another.  This isn't simply a collection of mods thrown together.  However, there is some progression which can involve starting in one mod and moving to another.  These are linked through custom recipes and questlines to show you the way.

Featuring a fully fleshed out quest book ( WIP ), guiding you through the different paths of progression available to you while also explaining how each mod works.
