Initially created in reaction to the popularity of the Cottage Core aesthetic, prevalent on Tiktok, Cottage Craft provided a virtual space during the COVID-19 pandemic to vicariously live out one's anti-urban fantasies in a playground far away from the horrid realities of capitalism and environmental degradation suffocating us daily. In that same vein, and in the name of leisure, Cottage Craft returns in 2021 to provide a space of respite for a generation of workers subjected to the psychological and emotion tedium of the collapse of the work and home distinctions. Instead, immerse yourself in the calming reality of Cottage Craft: a mirror world to the increasingly brutal landscape of 21st century capitalism.

The modpack mainly features farming, magic, and exploratory capabilities. Its intent is to focus on processes of construction, rather than destruction, as that seems to be the increasingly fatal function of these fraught times.
