Description
PhoenixPack has been in development for a few months, and is my first serious attempt at a modpack open to the public.
The pack is balanced around 1-4 players, with the major challenge being automation in early game and logistics in late game.
Pack Description:
The UEC Phoenix, a research ship on a mission to the Fafnir star cluster 300 lightyears away.
Upon arrival in low orbit around Fafnir A-3, something goes horribly wrong..
Escape Pods were sent out, but only one of them landed safely, lucky you.
Your objective is to explore the planets and moons of the Fafnir star cluster before returning to Earth.
The progression is devided into stages, with different challenges to overcome.
Stage 1: Survival and gathering
Upon crash landing, you have limited resources to get yourself established. Building a shelter is vital, after which you should seek out ores and metals to progress.
Stage 2: Automation and power generation
Automating basic resources and machine components is highly encouraged, and is rewarded by ease of expansion. Generating enough power to sustain growth is a priority, as upkeeping constant automation is critical.
Stage 3: Storage and logistics
With many resources and components automated, storage and organization whould be the next step. Large storage arrays or digital storage will make it easier to manage the tens of thousands of items you will be handling.
Stage 4: Interplanetary logistics
After achieving greater levels of automation, the next challenge is connecting operations on moons and other planets for a constant flow of resources, which cannot be found on your starting planet. Finding a way to efficiently ship items accross space is integral for maintaining your factory.
Stage 5: Story and exploration
The late game allows you to explore other planets and moons more freely without the weight of new automation or logistic challenges. This is where most of the story is revealed by visiting each planet and moon in order to the quests.
