Description
A standard kitchen-sink tech mod pack. With a bit of exploration. And a bit of progression. And an artifact hunt quest. But mostly a standard kitchen-sink tech mod pack.
Also, the sun is slowly being blotted out.
Welcome to Creeping Dark, a mod pack about saving the world. It contains many of your standard tech, magic, and dimension mods, with a twist. A plague is slowly covering the sky, blocking the sun. You must find the Sixteen keys to the end, retrieve the Dragon's egg, and bring it back to the Earth to cure it. Each tier of technology unlocks a new dimension, and each dimension unlocks a new tier of technology… and one of the Keys.
While there is a progression mechanic, the recipes are unchanged, with a few exceptions. Once you've "unlocked" a mod, it works the way it always has.
Included in this pack are many of the "staples" of the 1.12 era, including Actually Additions, Applied Energistics, EnderIO, Immersive Engineering, Mekanism, RFTools, Thermal Expansion, Astral Sorcery, Botania, and Thaumcraft, and many more. You'll dig into all of them as part of the Quest.
You'll also visit some well-known (and not so much) realms, including The Aether, Atum, The Betweenlands, The Erebus, The Tropics, The Twilight Forest, The Deep Dark, and even Outer Space! In the gallery (linked above) you can see some of these realms you'll visit, including some custom miniboss dungeons.
The pack, however, is definitely not hardcore. The focus is on exploration and engineering, more than combat. Even the combat can be taken as an engineering challenge: Killing the bosses is part of the Quest, but you can leave them until you've built the most OP gear you want, and curb-stomp them. Remember: Cheesing isn't Cheating!
We've also started a Let's Play of the pack. Watch as Mineman and I (and occasionally Kyo) commit numerous skill issues and crimes against English.
