About

Description

Darkbloom SMP is a fantasy roleplay SMP launched for small content creators. Inspired by the modpack used on QSMP, this is our take on the idea. The pack includes beautiful biomes, naturally generated dungeons, improved vanilla structures, additional hostile mobs, and extra dimensions. Using storytelling, we expand the world by exploring new lands and dimensions to find magical tools, armor, and NPCs played by admin actors.

Find us on Twitch to watch the story unfold and use this pack to play along by yourself or with friends! All mods are tested for multiplayer use on your own server.

The Story of Darkbloom Island

Looking out over the sparkling sea, breathing in the cool saltwater breeze, the sun shines high overhead, reflecting off the clear waters. A man leans on the wooden railing of the ship, shaded by the wide white canvas sails, as the vessel cruises through the calm waters of the day. The crew shout back and forth as they work the ship, singing and laughing as they work. He is a passenger on this ship, headed to a new continent. There are other passengers with him, some of whom he had gotten to know during the voyage, but also some he has not spent as much time with. Later, as the sun sets, a crewmate approaches him.

"Cap'n says a storm's rollin' in. You best get back to your cabin for your own safety."

The ship rocks and jerks all night, almost throwing him from your bunk on more than one occasion. From the porthole in the cabin he can see the angry rough seas surrounding the ship. The crew still shouts up above, and the sound boots running back and forth thunder all night above his head. It's a sleepless, restless night in the storm.

Suddenly there is a loud C R A C K and more shouting. The ship shudders and rolls, pitching the man to the floor. There's a tearing sound, a groan like a great creature of the deep seas in its death throes and he realizes that he's now knee deep in water. The water rushes around the ship, pouring in from cracks and holes in the hull. He can hear not only the crew shouting to each other now but the screams of other passengers and a scream escapes him as he sees one such unfortunate soul washed away, sucked out of a gap in the hull by the riptide. Faster than he can react, his feet are knocked from beneath him, sea brine fills his mouth as he goes under, dragged down by the immense power of the ocean. Blackness. Cold nothingness consumes him until he knows nothing else.

Waking on a black beach, he clutches his pounding head. He is surrounded by wreckage, but all is not lost. There is the sound of other voices - one of which he recognizes as the captain of the ship. They search the debris for anything they can salvage, tearing apart sails to make blankets, cutting up the broken masts and hull for building materials, and begin to construct basic shelter. This land is like nothing anyone has seen before, with a soaring stone arch just down the coast, strange colored sand, and weird cliff islands.

"Where are we?" someone asks.

"I have no idea. This wasn't on any maps I've ever studied," the captain replies. For now, they have no choice but to find a way to survive here until they can figure out how to get home.

"Welcome to the Island!" a strange voice seems to ring all around them. What island? Nobody knows. They will have to explore and investigate in order to find out.
