About
Description
A complete fabric modpack for a perfect hardcore server experience. If you die, you automatically get temporary banned from the server and lose all of your items. There are also small world changes like day/night cycle reduced to 0.5x speed and sleep night skip disabled.
Instead of deleting the world or perma-banning like traditional hardcore, DeathBan uses custom datapacks and server-side mods to enforce high stakes punishments for death while keeping the experience alive for a persistent playthrough. Perfect for creating the closest to a true hardcore experience for friend groups without leaving anyone out permanently.
Features
- Custom data pack makes temporary bans trigger instantly on player death. default: 1 hour (tested other times and 1 hour was perfect for my smp)
- Custom data pack wipes item and equipment on death.
- 2x slower day/night cycle.
- Sleeping disabled for real danger. (will want to disable phantoms with gamerule) alter this feature and day/night cycle in betterdays config
- No sleeping means no setting a spawn point, like a true hardcore experience, you start a new life on world spawn.
Details
Run these commands if you want the deaths to be shown on the tab player list

You can modify how long players are banned after death by editing the following file:
datapacks/deathBan/data/tempban/function/tick.mcfunction
Find this line:
execute as @a[scores={deaths=1..}] run tempban @a[scores={deaths=1..}] 0 0 1 [You Died]
Edit the last 3 numbers in this format: <months> <days> <hours>
This modpack is server side only (players can use vanilla minecraft with no mods to join).
I set this up for a distant horizons/tectonic hardcore playthrough with a big group of friends and it worked perfectly.
Special thanks to all mod authors included in this pack.
