Frontier Odyssey

A Minecraft Forge 1.16.5 modpack with an emphasis on scale and exploration. The goal of this modpack is to find a way to balance player exploration and the feeling of discovery with a straightforward guide. There is no quest book and there is nearly nothing required to "beat" the pack. However, there is a logbook that introduces the player to the less intuitive aspects of the pack. Entires in this book only unlock when the player triggers an advancement through completing something easier and more straightforward.

The main mods are - Terraforged, Biomes of Plenty for realistic sprawling world generation and large mountains - Emendatus Engimatica, Yung's Better Caves and various dungeon mods make the underground dense - Yung's Better Portals to simulate dimension stacking (players enter the nether through holes in the bedrock) - Create and Immersive Engineering for light, immersive tech mods (this is not an expert tech modpack) - Alex's Mobs, Upgrade Aquatic, Aquaculture, Environmental all bring life to the world and add new, varied enemies - Tetra including dozens of new materials for other mod's woodtypes and drops for tools - End Remastered provides a long term goal of assembling the ender eyes and finding the portal

The pack is almost purely an exploration modpack. Players need to travel long distances, often by walking, to find requirements for items and ender eyes. That being said, it should not be boring and great care has been put into making the overworld, caves, and the nether dense with interesting structures and mobs.

Server Files

Server files and scripts are coming soon. For now, just remove all the purely client side mods, move the rest of the mods and all relevant folders (mods, configs, default configs, kubejs) into the same folder as a base forge server and run. The modpack is balanced for multiplayer and works fine. For large servers, pregenerate.
