How to train your Dragon: The Second Part

Explore with dragons, build with Create and bring magic aboard your next adventure.

The Second Part brings the dragon series to Minecraft 1.18.2. Its dragon content uses the Isle of Berk 1.18.2 release distributed under dragons of berk, together with related add-ons. Combine dragon exploration with moving ships, engineering, storage and magic in a world you can develop at your own pace.

What you can do

• Dragons and their add-ons: Isle of Berk, Isle of Berk Addons, the Variant Loader, Archipelago Additions, Infernos and Dragon Eye expand the central dragon experience.
• Ships and engineering: Valkyrien Skies and Eureka add ship-building systems, while Create and the Thermal Series support a productive home base.
• Magic: Ars Nouveau and Blood Magic offer alternative ways to develop your character and interact with the world.
• Storage: Applied Energistics 2, wireless terminals, AE Additions and Sophisticated Backpacks help manage materials at home and on the move.
• Exploration and convenience: Oh The Biomes You'll Go, Dynamic Trees, Aquaculture, Waystones and Corail Tombstone add variety and useful travel tools.

Getting started

1. Install this modpack through the CurseForge app and choose the release you want to play.
2. Launch its profile with Java 17. Keep the bundled mod versions and configuration together.
3. For multiplayer, all players need the same modpack release as the server.

Updating: Back up your worlds before updating. Use a separate profile to try a new release before moving an existing world.

The three Dragon packs are separate modpacks on different Minecraft versions. Their worlds are not intended to be moved between parts.

Hosting a server

Open Files, select release 2026.10.01, then download its matching Server Pack from Additional Files. Every player still needs the full client modpack.

1. Extract the server ZIP into an empty folder and install 64-bit Java 17.
2. Run install.bat on Windows or sh install.sh on Linux/macOS. The official Forge installer downloads the required server files.
3. Read the Minecraft EULA and accept it yourself in eula.txt if you agree.
4. Run start.bat or sh start.sh. Read README.txt for hosting and update instructions.

The supplied scripts use a 4 GB memory limit as a starting point; adjust it for your host and player count. Client and server must use the same release.

Mod information & support

The selected release determines the exact mod versions. Check its Relations/Dependencies and the mod list included in the export for the full list. Gameplay details and recipes depend on those versions.

For pack issues, leave a project comment with the modpack release, Minecraft and Java versions, the steps to reproduce the problem, and the relevant crash report or log.
