Inheritance
"The world learned. And it will never forgive."
There was once a time when this world was no different from any other.
The grass was green. The forests were untouched. Villages thrived in peace, connected by simple paths and surrounded by wheat fields. The Nether was a hostile wilderness, but not a kingdom. The End was a distant mystery. Every mountain, river, and cave waited patiently to be explored.
It was a world of simplicity.
Simple tools.
Simple weapons.
Simple monsters.
Simple survival.
And then...
The Ancient Builders arrived.
Nobody remembers where they came from.
Some believed they were gods.
Others believed they were travelers from another realm.
Whatever they were...
They changed the world forever.
They mastered every craft known to existence. Stone became castles. Iron became fortresses. Diamond became armor that made them nearly immortal. Nothing could stand against them.
They dug endlessly into the earth, carving mountains hollow and leaving scars that remain visible even after thousands of years.
Entire forests vanished beneath their axes to feed furnaces that never stopped burning.
Villages became nothing more than factories. Villagers were no longer neighbors—they became tools, imprisoned inside trading halls for endless profit.
Pillager outposts were destroyed one after another until their banners nearly vanished from the Overworld.
Piglins were hunted for sport.
Their bastions were stripped of every treasure.
Ancient Cities were robbed.
Ocean Monuments were conquered.
Nothing remained sacred.
The Builders believed the world existed only to serve them.
And for a long time...
It did.
But the world was watching.
Every forest burned.
Every mountain shattered.
Every civilization erased.
Every life taken.
The balance that had existed for ages slowly collapsed beneath the weight of endless human ambition.
Then...
Something changed.
No one knows what caused it.
Some say the planet itself awakened.
Some believe the souls of everything humanity destroyed became one.
Others claim the Void finally reached the Overworld.
Whatever the truth may be...
The world learned.
The undead were the first to evolve.
The harmless zombies of old disappeared.
In their place rose horrors unlike anything the Ancient Builders had ever faced.
Creatures adapted.
Predators became smarter.
Entire species evolved to hunt those who once hunted them.
The forests reclaimed abandoned cities.
Roots burst through stone walls.
Trees grew from the ashes of forgotten kingdoms.
Nature no longer welcomed humanity.
It consumed it.
The Illagers watched everything.
For centuries they had been hunted.
Their towers burned.
Their raids defeated.
Their people slaughtered.
No longer.
They abandoned chaos and embraced discipline.
Their armies multiplied.
Their magic evolved.
Their engineers built stronger fortresses.
Their spellcasters unlocked powers thought impossible.
They no longer raided villages.
They conquered kingdoms.
Deep beneath the earth...
The Piglins remembered.
They remembered every Builder who entered the Nether carrying enchanted weapons.
Every bastion robbed.
Every brother slain.
Every ounce of gold stolen.
Generation after generation, they adapted.
New warriors emerged.
Elite hunters were trained.
Massive fortresses replaced scattered bastions.
Entire armies stood ready for the day another Builder would dare return.
The Nether was no longer a wasteland.
It had become an empire.
Humanity refused to surrender.
Instead...
They looked to the stars.
Gigantic laboratories were constructed.
Rocket engines thundered across the skies.
New technologies surpassed anything previously imagined.
Machines replaced tradition.
Factories covered the landscape.
Humanity believed space would become their salvation.
If Earth could no longer be saved...
Then they would simply leave it behind.
But the planet had already decided otherwise.
Fuel supplies vanished.
Resources became scarce.
Launches failed.
Rockets exploded.
Those that escaped never returned.
Whether they reached distant worlds...
Or died among the stars...
No one knows.
Earth became humanity's prison.
Cities fell.
Colonies vanished.
Entire civilizations disappeared beneath forests that grew impossibly fast.
The oceans swallowed ports.
Factories rusted.
Castles collapsed.
Roads cracked beneath ancient roots.
The greatest civilization ever known faded into myth.
The Ancient Builders became nothing more than forgotten ghosts.
Thousands of years passed.
The world healed.
Not for humanity...
But from humanity.
Today...
No one remembers the names of the Ancient Builders.
Only their ruins remain.
Broken castles hidden beneath vines.
Collapsed laboratories buried beneath mountains.
Abandoned mines stretching endlessly into darkness.
Rusted machines whose purpose has long been forgotten.
Ancient launch facilities reaching toward silent skies.
Fragments of a civilization that believed itself eternal.
The creatures of this new age know only one truth:
Humans bring ruin.
The forests reject you.
The oceans test you.
The deserts bury you.
The cold freezes you.
The Nether hunts you.
Even the stars themselves no longer promise safety.
This is not your world.
It hasn't been for thousands of years.
And yet...
Against all odds...
Another Builder has arrived.
You.
You awaken beneath an unfamiliar sky.
No kingdom awaits your command.
No village welcomes your arrival.
No ancient civilization stands ready to guide you.
Only silence.
Only ruins.
Only the remains of those who believed they could conquer everything.
Every step you take awakens something older than memory.
Every ruin whispers of humanity's arrogance.
Every creature watches.
Waiting.
Learning.
Preparing.
The world remembers what your kind once did.
It will not make the same mistake twice.
Your Story Begins
Will you repeat the sins of the Ancient Builders?
Will you strip the world of what little remains?
Will you conquer every land, every dimension, every planet, as those before you once did?
Or...
Will you become something they never were?
A survivor.
An explorer.
A keeper of forgotten history.
The path ahead is merciless.
The nights grow darker.
The monsters grow stronger.
The world itself fights against your existence.
But within the ruins of a fallen civilization lie forgotten technologies, abandoned space programs, lost kingdoms, and truths buried beneath thousands of years of decay.
Perhaps humanity was never meant to inherit this world.
Or perhaps...
Inheritance was never about claiming the world.
It was about proving you deserve to live in it.
