Description
(most important informations are under "World Generation & General Tips" section)
About the Modpack
Welcome to Lavender Flowers! A lightweight naturalistic magic modpack including:
- Magic mods, such as Thaumcraft (and addons), Botania, Blood Magic, Witchery and more.
- Nature mods, such as Biome's o Plenty, Pam's HarvestCraft, Serene Season, etc.
- Decoration mods, such as Chisel, Carpenter's Blocks, etc.
- New dimensions for you to explore, such as Aether, Twilight Forest and a couple from Abyssal Craft.
There is about 90 mods, with most of them being small mods (such as tweaking, decoration, quality of life, etc.), so the modpack is ideal for those who are looking for a modpack which does not require tons of processing power. You can also remove some of them if it makes the game lighter.
World Generation & General Tips
While creating a new world, do not forget to alter the default settings of world generation:
- Choose Biomes O' Plenty for extra biomes and beautiful landscapes (including the Lavender Fields, the biome which the modpack inherits its the name from!); or
- Realistic for a Vanilla+ experience (the same biomes as Vanilla, but with a more interesting biome generation).
Of course, if you don't want any of those things, just go with default. But I highly recommend going with at least Realistic generation.
The Modpack includes tweakes and quality of life mods for you to use and abuse, such as:
- Gravestone Mod: no need to activate keep inventory. When you die, a tomb will keep all of your items in the place of your death.
- Antique Atlas: to suit the atmosphere I wanted, I decided to not put a minimap mod. Instead, locate yoursefl crafting an Antique Atlas!
- Torch Key: Instead of scrolling to a torch in your hotbar, you can configure a key that, when pressed (and there are torches in the hotbar), it will place a torch.
- Waystones: an easy way to fast travel between places. You can bound yourself to a Waystone (usually spawn in villages but also craftable) and then go back to it using a Return Scroll, or teleport between all of your activated waystones via a Warp Stone.
- Notes: just press N and then you can create notes.
- Nature Compass: no need to spend hours hunting for a specific biome. Just craft a Nature's Compass and then you can easily find it.
- Mine Menu: you can set up a hotkey and then lots of shortcuts can be executed through a wheel.
- Sit: you can sit in slabs and stairs by pressing the RMB close to it.
Also, note that the torches eventually burn themselves out. To relit it, craft a Matchbook. (the time the torches are lit up is configurable)
Textures
The modpack also includes some textures. I recommend using (in that order, from bottom to top) Default, Aether Textures, Pixel Reality and for last Stoneborn (or Faithless instead).
Removing Mods
I intended to create a modpack that most computers can run, and ended up with about 90 mods, with most of them being minor ones. If you want to make it lighter, you can try to delete the following modpacks (sorted by the ones which are heavier or may be deleted but does not alter the essence of the modpack):
- Dimension mods, such as Abyssal Craft, Twilight or Aether
- Streams and Farseek
- Runic Dungeons
- Runic Inscriptions
- Gems & Jewels
- Dynamic Lights
- Placeable Items
- MmmMmmMmmMmm (Target Dummy) and DummyCore
- Totemic
- Blood Arsenal and Blood Magic
- Serene Seasons
- Mo' Villages
- Mo' Creatures
