Really well made modpack. What I think every modpack should strive to be. Everything included in the pack is integrated in such a good and cohesive way where nothing feels like it's just thrown in randomly. Everything is put together so well into each other. Create is integrated into the core gameplay loop really well, Iron armor requires Iron plate, giving chainmail a good use in between leather and iron, Diamond requires mechanical crafters, all of the alloys including netherite require a mixer. The enchanting system is by far my favorite enchanting system I've seen in a modpack (and I'm very excited it got turned into its own mod). The change to tool/armor progression is a really nice change. Each armor material having it's own unique protection, tool materials filling different purposes (rose gold having innate silk touch for example), and not to mention the unique weapons you can make with the different alloys is such a good addition. All in all I think I have to say Raspberry Flavoured will go down as probably one of, if not my most favorite modpacks I've played.

I finally got around to playing Raspberry Flavoured and I have to say it's a great pack so far, you can play it however you feel and progression feels steady throughout the pack. I will say it's advertising as vanilla+ is (in my opinion) entirely incorrect, and this pack plays more like a complete overhaul, it does very well at overhauling almost every aspect of the game though.

The mods included in this pack are thoughtful and well integrated into the progression and the texturing means they all seamlessly blend together as well. If it wasn't for enabling advanced tooltips I sometimes wouldn't have been able to tell which mod everything came form (which is a good sign that they're well integrated). This is one of the only packs I've played which includes create but doesn't feel like all of your time is spent making create machines, even though it is necessary for progression. And talking about progression, it just feels like vanilla but better, starting with copper makes way more sense rather than having it feel useless, I do wish bronze was more useful in this pack though. My only issue with this progression is the jump to steel does feel rather large, taking longer than basically any other progression stage in this pack due to requiring a blaze burner, lead and either a blaze cake/blaze powder.

The removal of normal enchantments is honestly one of the largest bonuses to this pack and although some people might not like it, I feel that the vanilla enchantment system is honestly so overpowered. I love the fact that rose gold tools have built in silk touch and this actually helps you get more value from ores somewhat early game. Lead being found so deep does feel fitting for progression, and the extra mobs combined with tweaked difficulty actually made me feel somewhat worried in caves, I even dropped to half a heart on multiple occasions.

The mechanic to enter the nether is interesting, but can be a bit frustrating if you get unlucky finding crying obsidian or the tears in chest loot. I do think the decision to remove the end and let the ender pearls find structures such as ruined portals does help here though. Nether exploration can be frustrating at times, especially with so much gated behind finding a fortress for blazes and with the pearls often locating bastions and towers instead. Maps being so finite also means it can be easy to get lost even with an atlas if you run out of maps, this isn't too much of an issue once you have a tree farm however.

One annoyance I did have is some recipe changes that make some blocks feel far more expensive than they should be. I'm unsure why the portable storage interface now requires brass, redstone, many intermediates and only produces 1 item. Slime being slightly harder to craft was annoying when I had to make my radial chassis sticky but wasnt too much of an issue as jam is easy to make.

Overall, in the limited time I've played this so far I think this pack is great and I wish I had checked it out earlier. I would recommend everyone to try this pack, even if it isn't vanilla+ as it claims it is still really easy to learn and enjoy. I'll probably edit this review once I've played this some more!

Went in to this blind and decided it's one of the best modpacks I've played. Enchantments are replaced with materials that give the same effect and almost everything is renewable. Great gameplay. There may be no end goal, but you can progress forever because of that. The shader compatibility is a tiny but of a struggle but you just have to restart the game.

RF is a great modpack that specialises in early game and mid-game. Personally i find that at a later level its still a little lacking, i cant put my finger on what tho.
Performance is pretty average for a modpack this size.
Loved playing it with friends

Overview

Like the title says, I do believe that this might just be the most polished pack I've ever played, Especially from a technically standpoint. However I've got to admit that, as much as I love this pack, it's not for me gameplay wise. That's not to say that I don't like the concept for the pack, not at all, I think its an incredible idea. The pack has a quality over quantity approach to the point of removing vanilla game mechanics. However as someone who loves exploration, new weapons, new dungeons, mobs etc, changes like removing villages and the end dimension isn't quite for me but I can understand the appeal for a lot of players, especially players just getting into modding or ones that want a simpler experience.

The quality of everything that is there is amazing, the new and unique enchanting system, the custom menus and ui that have been perfectly crafted with fancy menu, the custom textures and functionality of items. From a technical side of things, it has the best application and organisation of resource packs I've ever seen in any pack, unnecessary packs are hidden, required ones are forced on and the whole ui is cleaned up perfectly.

While it may not be the most flashy or in depth pack you'll find out there, if your looking for a simple polished experience this might just be the pack for you.

I love this modpack, it's the little things, adding up to a whole greater than I would expect.

The term vanilla+ feels off when trying to describe it since it feels more cohesive than any other modpack I've played so far and it carves it's own little niche inside my head. I think of it as a completely separate object than minecraft, and the way it integrates everything, down to the UI of JEI to the coordinates, to the minimap, makes it incredibly immersive

The use of advancements to guide player progression is particularly genius since it gives, at least for me, a distinction from how it would work if it used quests. Quests are something to be done, advancements are not, and that means that it's easy to just play the game how I want it without a given goal looming over my head. But I'm also never really lost since if I feel like I want to progress, or there's an item that I need, I can simply open up the advancements.

The various notes and informational bits scattered around the JEI is also really nice, making it completely playable without ever looking at a wiki and feels immersive enough that it feels natural.

Basically every single mod that's in raspberry flavoured was put in, not to enhance minecraft, but to make raspberry flavoured as envisioned by the creator and you can really feel that when playing.

Despite the massive overhauls to Vanilla such as removing or reworking entire portions of the game as well as many great opinionated changes, it doesn't feel as far away from Vanilla as I would've liked?

Even though the pack cuts out the End entirely, it feels more like cutting out a tertiary part of the game rather than a radical overhaul, which is fine, but it feels like the problem that the presence that the End caused has been passed down to the Nether rather than being extracted entirely. A significant portion of content in the pack is specifically Nether Fortress gated; tool progression in the overworld ends quickly where four whole end game tool materials and a significant portion of Create are locked behind the Blaze Burner while the five special weapons are locked behind Wither Bones. Not only is the Nether itself largely untouched save for a new Piglin variant and a tower structure that seems to just be there to mess with your ability to locate the Fortress with Exopearls, if you rush to the Nether, you will pretty much run into the same issue as Vanilla players do with rushing to the End where your motivation to continue playing quickly dries up.

The underground has new mobs, new mob behaviors, but also a pretty severe inventory issue. There's several new ores, new not ores, new create blocks that can be milled into ores, new mob drops, new rare mob drops, vases that drop random things. To compensate for this, you get early access to Supplementaries sacks which are basically Mini Shulkers, but you get so many things that even that doesnt feel like thats enough, and its not a superior solution to a backpack mod in any way outside of the fact that Sacks feel more vanilla.

The choices of mods to include also feels kind of scattershot; Oreganized's Lead struggles to justify its inclusion and I still don't know how to actually use the Silver Mirror. The pack is very reserved in its choice of biome mods and the Nether has none which is a shame because I love collecting weird new building blocks from the Nether in other packs that had mods like Infernal Expansion. There is a surprisingly massive selection of more niche and smaller mods to hone the vanilla homesteading experience most of which I will probably never get to touch because the pack's main way of communicating their existence to you is having them just sit around in EMI; the presence of Advancements in this regard are not adequate beyond progression.

Performance is kind of middling for a Vanilla+ pack; RAM requirements are on par for a standard modded experience of this scope, framerates are kind of low and the pack has a surprising issue with particle spam such as with the underground unstable rocks simeltaneously exploding and tanking your fps with ten thousand block break particles being spawned in at once (and this is not the only instance of something like this in the pack).

What this pack does in absolute terms is make a variety of highly opinionated changes around the game; you'll notice stuff like Cooked Fish and Cooked Salmon being merged into Cooked Fish, which is a change I appreciate because I'm a weird nerd, but what the modpack doesn't do is provide an immediate radical agenda like Musketeer with its choice to remove both the End and the Nether, nor does it carve out a niche like the Beta 1.7.3 mods do. And without a massive content dump to compensate, I'm left with an experience that's essentially parallel to Vanilla where everything is slightly different but not enough to keep me playing or for me to want to talk other people into playing it with me.

Everything in this pack feels included. There are no duplicates, no random items that don't fit the theme, no unintentional recipes. The balance changes are sooo good! The devs dear to do what Mojang doesn't by just flat out removing game breaking or just not fun elements of Minecraft (Villagers, XP, Elytra). The sandbox aspect instead of progression based gameplay is also a big plus for me. Every playstyle from automation min-maxing with create to laid back building is supported, no need to rush nor to does it ever feel tedious or too much of a grind. The one star I've deducted is just for Create, it can get very laggy if your machines are set up suboptimal but despite that I've never had any issues with my gtx1650.
Also a big plus is the great community on the discord and the public multiplayer servers, honestly the kindest and coolest people I've met online :D

This is the best modpack i have ever played. Everything about it is good. I don't remember having that much fun in minecraft since 2020. The progression is perfectly balanced. World generation feels very cozy, almost every place is good to build a cute little house to live in. I recommend this modpack to everyone, it is definitely worth a try

Never had so much fun playing Minecraft before.
Of course, some people may turn their noses up at unusual content, such as: no End dimension; reworked enchanting; coordinates tied to items... but it actually makes the game slower and really different from most modded experiences, forcing you to play in a different way.
The pack achieves a HUGE integration between each mod. Everything just connects. New textures, recipes, loads of content made specially for the pack...
It's a really well-thought vanilla overhaul. It feels more free and like a true sandbox game.
Of course, sometimes there may be some bugs due to the integration of the mods, and even though this happens all the time with many packs, this one is so well made that when something is out of place it sticks out. However, the amazing people developing this pack try their best on polishing the experience.
