Description

What's in the box.

Ten dimensions of progression, three magic systems, eleven Macaw's mods, an airship engine, more storage networks than reasonable. A summary, by category.

Aeronautical Engineering: Create + Aeronautics

Build a working airship. Create is in here, and so is Create Aeronautics — the addon that adds flight surfaces, joysticks, and lift. Aeroworks adds proper aviation tooling on top. The Ponder system (<kbd>W</kbd> on a Create item) shows animated tutorials for everything. Use it constantly.

Industrial Foundry: Tech

Mekanism, Modern Industrialization, Industrial Foregoing, Immersive Engineering, PneumaticCraft, Powah, RFTools. Six full tech mods, all working in parallel. Pick a flavor: Mekanism for ergonomics, MI for late-game scaling, IE for aesthetic, PneumaticCraft for mad-scientist energy.

Networks of Storage: AE2 + Refined

Applied Energistics 2 with most of its addons (Wireless Terminals, Extended AE, MEGA Cells, Pocket Storage). Refined Storage is also here for the more relaxed players. Both work. Sophisticated Backpacks fills the early-game gap before either is online.

Arcane Systems: Magic

Three independent schools: Ars Nouveau (glyph-based spell construction with eight addons), Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks (D&D-style memorized spells), Theurgy (ritual-based, slower-burn). Mahou Tsukai for ki-style techniques. Pick one, all, or learn them in sequence.

Realms Beyond: Dimensions

The Aether (sky islands), The Twilight Forest (perpetual dusk, progression-gated bosses), Deeper and Darker (post-Warden lore), The Bumblezone (literally inside a beehive), The Undergarden, Eternal Starlight. Each has its own portal mechanic. The Aether is reached with a glowstone-framed water portal — flint & steel won't work.

Combat & Loot: RPG

Apotheosis affixes turn ordinary loot into rare gear with rolled stats. L_Ender's Cataclysm adds five raid bosses with brutal mechanics — don't fight them in starter armor. IceAndFire adds dragons with hoards. Hostile Neural Networks lets you replicate mob drops once you've farmed enough samples.

Worlds Reshaped: Worldgen

Oh The Biomes We've Gone (60+ biomes), Regions Unexplored, Nullscape rewrites the End. The complete YUNG's set (mineshafts, strongholds, jungle temples, witch huts, ocean monuments — all redesigned). Towns and Towers, ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village, Moog's structure series. Loot rarely comes from a vanilla chest anymore.

Settlement & Society: Minecolonies

Minecolonies lets you build a town with NPC villagers — farmers, builders, smiths, guards. Three style packs (Stylecolonies, Byzantine, default). FTB Quests provides a guided progression overlay if you want one; Open Parties and Claims handles chunk protection.

Habitat & Hearth: Decoration

Eleven Macaw's mods (Doors, Roofs, Furniture, Bridges...). Chipped, Chisel Reborn, Rechiseled. Botany Pots and Trees for indoor gardening. Storage Delight, Bibliocraft Legacy, Mr. Crayfish's Furniture. Pam's HarvestCraft 2 (four modules) and Farmer's Delight handle the kitchen. Comforts adds sleeping bags.

Quality of Life: QoL

JEI for recipe lookup. JourneyMap and FTB Chunks for navigation and claims. Curios and Accessories for trinket slots. Sodium and Iris for performance and shaders. Just Zoom for the missing zoom key. Crafting Tweaks for one-click compress/decompress. Some 30+ small QoL mods, all behaving themselves.
