About

Description

Statecraft is a mod pack designed so that myself and friends could attempt to replicate the essence behind ish's (at the time of this pack's creation) latest video "1000 Players Build MASSIVE Civilization in Minecraft".

As I don't have 1000 friends willing to spend hours of their days on playing Minecraft with me, nor the spare capital to run a server capable of hosting 1000 people simultaneously, the only option left was to substitute it with mods.

The idea broad idea behind this pack is to use the FTB Teams system to form factions (nations, countries, religions, cults, etc) which will have a pool of lives. Then mods like Serene Seasons add difficulty in the production of food, while the Farmer's Delight suite of mods should give greater value to what is produced. Then a handful of QoL mods were added for good measure as well as some aesthetic mods to assist in the building of nations.

For the sake of clarity, here are the following tenets(?) which were used when designing this mod:

  1. Players will follow the basic multiplayer server rules (think no griefing*, no hacking, keeping bm to a minimum)
  2. That a minimum level of RP will be accepted by all players (basics like nations, jobs, alliances not expecting voice acting or full blown role-playing)
  3. That griefing be allowed, as long as it is in good faith and has a justifiable reason (eg if you're part of a Viking style raid party setting a house or two on fire is fine)
  4. Dimensions other than the overworld shall be off limits
  5. Occasional server-wide events may be held awarding rare resources
  6. The play area should have set bounds, high biome diversity, and ideally take the form of a single large landmass or 2-3 large islands
  7. That the lives per player or per team should be clearly set with conditions for receiving more laid out (eg team has 3 lives per player and can only get more through server events)

Future goals and possible ideas for Statecraft include the addition of scripted events allowing for admins to take a more hands off approach regarding events, the addition of some form of resource (found or crafted) which may restore lives to a team, a trade, barter, or currency system which should make trading between nations or factions more interesting, and possibly some pre-generated worlds for server owners to use. Though the addition of these features depends heavily on the level of interest this pack gets from both players and myself.

### A mod list will be added after the mods have been finalised and accepted by the Curse Forge team
