Good luck Surviving
You want to stay out of the dark. Monsters have become much more viscious and ravenous. They will seek you out and kill you with no mercy. Meanwhile survival is much more different compared to vanilla minecraft. Tjis modpack centers around Better with mods and is a custom to it.
How to survive your first night?
You'll notice that your hotbar has several other bars other than the normal hunger bar. This includes a thirst bar and a temperature bar. They are not your biggest worries. It's actually your hunger bar is your biggest enemy. Hunger goes down very quickly especially if running or jumping. You can craft dirt slabs that can help you get up blocks without jumping just by putting two dirt piles in your crafting grid.
Once you've gotten yourself some dirt slabs. You'll want to find a tree and chop it down. You will get planks instead of logs when you use your hand. Craft a crafting table and make a wooden pickaxe like normal. Mine some stone that is exposed to the surface. Stone will have a different hardness depending on depth and what its surrounded by. Use the stone you mine to craft some cobblestone by putting four stone chunks in a 4x4 pattern. Now you can finally craft a stone pickaxe, axe, and shovel.
Chop down some more trees to get their logs. You will need logs in order to craft two campfires. One isn't enough. You need four logs and three cobblestone for each. With your stone pickaxe you can now mine some harder stone and make a little hole to survive the night. You must be aware that the night is incredibly dangerous. Monsters have better and more dangerous ai. They can seek out light sources and noises. They will even surround your house if you are unlucky which happens more often than you think. Place both campfires down and use sticks to light one. The light won't last the entire night so you must be ready to light the second one asap. If you don't you'll die from a grue.
Other things to note.
Some food stacks while other don't. They will even go bad after a certain period of time.
Seasons exist and certain crops can only be grown in certain seasons.
Nutrition is an important factor to consider although don't worry about it so much on your first night.
The monsters are intended to be hard and are not the most balanced whennjust starting out. Most monsters are just going to give you a big F U when they first see you so just beware. You are almost 100% likely to die on your first or first few nights. This modpack isn't for everyone and is just for people who want a harder but not too complicated version of minecraft. It doesn't use very overpowered mobs such as lycanites mobs, only just improved on the vanilla ones with the exception of the grue.
If you have played better than wolves or better with mods than you should be familiar. It has almost the same progression system.
This small modpack is not the most refined or balanced and is just for people who want more of a challenge.
Good luck and Have fun.
