Steampunk's Paradise

Steampunk's Paradise is a modpack that stemmed from the idea of playing Minecraft in a steampunk-styled setting with airships and a world of floating islands. This modpack has been designed to not only improve on and add to Vanilla Gameplay mechanics in a world of floating islands (we even have features from the nether update!), but to add to the game in a way that keeps a steampunk theme with the addition of technological and magic mods such as Immersive Engineering and Thaumcraft. Dive in to experience a unique adventure in this unique world. Will you be able to overcome the obstacles that this world possesses?

This modpack is designed to be played on the SKYLANDS world type!

Gameplay Progression:

Delving into a world, you will almost certainly notice a feeling of being stuck on the island where you spawn. Water is scarce, resources are limited, and many mobs wander beneath the overhangs of the islands. Luckily however, if you can locate some wool, string, and wood, crafting a ship's helm and balloons will allow for much easier movement to different places. But be wary of what guards these skies... Perhaps journeying to the nether (with a cake?) could help you find resources to better overcome these obstacles after advancing enough in the sky islands? And maybe the end contains a secret to being safe from the void?

While mining for resources is still possible, it is recommended to seek other methods of gathering resources for the long term. It is very difficult to find lower leveled ores like Diamond, Gold, and Redstone. Luckily, there are methods of getting around this! Scattered throughout the world are a plethora of dungeons, but it is also possible to produce resources through ex-nihilo as a means to a sustainable resources supply! As you gather more resources , additional methods for creating resources will become available. If only you could just grow some...

Known Issues:

-When traveling to the Aether, if the cake does not spawn you on top of any blocks (ie straight to the void), you will almost instantly be sent back to the overworld. This is an issue with dimensional edibles. To fix, you will either need to build a platform where the player spawns below or at y 65, or try deleting the folder of the dimension save (dimension 4) and going back again to see  if the world gen changes and spawns you on an island/block

- (Only effects versions before 1.4.0pr2) There seems to be cascading world gen issues from either Quark, FutureMC, Ice and Fire, or Battletowers, though it typically does not freeze the game and cause lag until around 4500 x or z and beyond

-Please note, there is sometimes a bug where going in water makes your vision all white. Change your render distance to fix! (Currently trying to figure out what mod is doing this)
