Stormy Skies
A Different Kind of Skyblock
Stormy Skies is a 1.12.2 skyblock modpack that presents unique challenges.
The Island
Stormy Skies is meant to played on a custom map (now available for download). Unlike more traditional skyblock experiences, this base map features a central island of significant size, containing multiple biomes to provide the player with much-needed resources to begin their journey to build their own world!
The Challenge
Founded on the mod Pyrotech, the progression for unlocking technology -even the most basic of Vanilla functionalities- is a challenge. It is for this reason you will get such a generous start! Supported by Ex Nihilo, Water Strainer, Advanced Fishing and more, there are many ways to get the resources you need...and many more ways to spend them! It's a rough beginning and you'll be starting from the bottom, but it's the hardest climbs that feel most satisfying when you reach the summit!
The Goal
Stormy Skies features a wide array of entertaining mods to aspire to and help you become more and more able to break the limits of your small world! With Thaumcraft, Roots, Immersive Engineering, Embers, and more, you can feel like a master of your realm, with the eventual option of creating the fabled magic ink necessary to write your own Mystcraft worlds, if you so desire to finally escape the island you call home!
Play With Friends!
While there isn't a server variation for this modpack yet, it is intended that this pack be playable with multiple players, enabled by a much larger starting island than standard skyblock with more abundant resources and a wide variety of end-goal activities for players of different stripes to pursue. So set up a local server or LAN and get your game on with your buddies!
Note: This modpack is in a very early stage with much more work left to do both in terms of scripting/configurations and world shaping for the main island.
Currently you need to disable Creative Mode when using the official map; use the command /gamemode set 0 to do this!
