About

Description

Surviving - Once More is yet another survival focused modpack with a lot of different survival mechanics to deal with. This pack initially started out as a quick and dirty modpack to troll my friend by saying "This is a nice easy comfort modpack" but then throw in as many difficulty mods as I could lol. As time went on and we played I slowly refined the pack, added recipes, custom edits, fixing conflicts, to the point where I thought I might as well release it.

Terrain and some structures have been completely overhauled thanks to mods like Tectonic, Abnormal's mods, Geophilic, YUNG's series of mods, Hopo Better Ruined Portals, DnT mods, and many others. Tectonic terrain has been completely customized in this modpack. Smaller overall continents, smaller oceans, more islands, biome placement changes, etc. The pack includes some small introductory quests to some mods and progression information thanks to the mod Questlog. There are a lot of decorational blocks to choose from. Enjoy a cozy home in these dangerous times! The vanilla visuals have been improved with mods like Coastal Waves, Wakes, Pretty Rain, Better Clouds, and more!

There are quite a few new mechanics to deal with. Most are listed below:

  • Seasons - Seasons come and go. Certain crops only grow in certain seasons and at some humidities.
  • Temperature - Prepare for Arid Heats and Chilling Colds. Prepare for the changing of seasons.
  • Thirst - Drink :)
  • Injuries - Limbs can take damage when hurt, getting too hurt can lead to some serious debuffs.
  • Sanity - Dangerous and bleak situations can lead you to lose sanity, and potentially go crazy.
  • Butchering - Animals now don't just drop their meats and loot. You will have to prepare their corpses and harvest them.
  • Nutrition - Eating too many or too little of a certain food type can give you debuffs. Maintaining your diet just right could lead to some great rewards.
  • Smithing - Creating certain tools has been greatly changed. Heat up your iron and create your tool parts at a smithing anvil.
  • Cave Ins - Caves have a new danger, falling blocks. Be careful not to get hit.
  • Fishing - Fishing now has a new minigame, among with numerous more fish to go and catch.
  • Darkness - Dark areas are now dark. Bring torches.
  • Air - The deep caves, high elevations, and other dimensions will have a lack of air.

While there are a lot of challenges to deal with, there are plenty of ways to counter them. Create a comfy home with sanity increasing objects, brew drinks that can help restore sanity, create greenhouses to let crops grow in any season or humidity, craft a backpack and bundles to help with storage while travelling, make a lunch basket to store different types of food, and many other objects to help you in your adventures and struggles!

It's recommended to run this pack with at least 6 Gb of RAM.

This modpack was initially inspired by one of Forgelab's videos, Surviving the Harshest Winter

A lot of changes in the modpack were inspired by the modpack Raspberry Flavoured. (It is suuuuuuuch a good modpack, please play it. I highly recommend it)
