A Constant Struggle
This modpack reshapes Minecraft into a world governed by hunger, madness, and hostile seasons. Darkness gnaws at your mind. Winter kills the careless. Heat punishes the unprepared. Safety is temporary, and safety is something that I decided to remove for your suffering and mine.
Inspired by Don’t Starve Together, this pack focuses on fragile survival, gated progression, and systems that force proper planning.
It's still in its early stages, so expect it to be a little unbalanced ;)
Core Survival Systems
Sanity – Powered by Sanity:DIM
Your mental state matters as much as your health. Things like darkness, monsters, and eating bad food drain your sanity, while things like sleeping, eating good food, and wearing a garland raise it. Low sanity can cause hallucinations. And the lower it gets, the real-er these manifestations become.
For full details on how sanity works in this pack, players should review the Sanity:DIM mod documentation.
Seasons – Powered by Serene Seasons
The world cycles through spring, summer, autumn, and winter, each changing temperature, crops, and survival strategy. Winter demands heat. Summer threatens overheating. Migration, insulation, and preparation become important survival skills.
Temperature – Powered by Tough As Nails
Hot and cold are lethal forces. Proper clothing, shelter, fires, and biome choice determine whether you live or freeze.
The thirst mechanic from Tough As Nails has been removed to better match Don’t Starve Together’s design.
Science Stations & Progression
Progression in this pack is controlled through science stations inspired by Don’t Starve Together.
Certain items cannot be crafted unless the appropriate station is in your inventory. Why? Cause Steve can't just be born knowing how to craft everything on day one! You must to learn how to craft things!

Custom DST-Inspired Items
This modpack introduces several original items designed specifically for this survival experience.
Taffy
Crafted from two sugar and cooked in a Crock Pot.
Taffy restores sanity at the cost of health. Useful when your mind is collapsing—less useful when your heart is.
Nightmare Fuel
Mined from a new ore called Entropy, though far larger quantities can be obtained by killing Endermen and Phantoms.
Nightmare Fuel replaces lapis for enchanting. Its use pool is currently limited; player suggestions for additional recipes or mechanics are definitely welcome!
Telltale Heart
Used to revive other players.
When eaten, the Telltale Heart sets all players’ gamemodes to Survival, effectively reviving anyone who was spectating the world. The user is poisoned as a consequence.
Hambat
Crafted from two sticks, one leather, and one ham (obtained by killing a pig with a knife).
The Hambat deals three hearts of damage and has no durability bar, or recharge mechanic!
It is currently experimental: attempting to craft more than one at a time will instead produce a normal smoked ham with no bonus damage. This is a known issue and will be addressed in future updates.
Intended Experience
This pack rewards patience and preparation, while it kills the rest. Messing up is an option, but just remember: darkness will kill you. Winter will kill you. Evil manifestations born of your decaying mind... will also probably kill you.
This is not 'Mr. Nice Guy' Minecraft. It's 'learn the rules before the world teaches them to you' Minecraft.
