Description
Before downloading, please realize that the pack is in the works. There is a lot missing, however eventually the idea I have for this will fit the description. Trello Link :3
TGW is a modpack carefully curated to include mods to better your experience while not making it feel too modded. There are some mods that push those boundaries and add content that you might not see in minecraft, but it's generally centered around the newer feel of minecraft and the direction I think it is going. I wanted to capture this by overhauling a few things of the core game.
Tools and armor is first, I overall wanted to keep the vanilla game loop for armor and tools while adding the ability to customize them with cosmetics. You are able to add trims to both tools, armor, and elytras. There is a wide variety of materials you can use for trim coloring including a ton of new dyes for more variety.
Next is generation, I love the newer generation brought in the caves and cliffs update. I have gone even farther and changed the layout of biomes and more! First off the world generation is more of our real world, you will find long stretches of land followed by big oceans and archipelagos. This will allow a better separation of ocean and land biomes, making it easier to decide on either. Furthermore, mountains can be even higher reaching up into the 300s on the y-axis. Besides this, there are tons of new biomes in the overworld, caves, nether, and a few in the end.
Finally we have longevity, I always get upset when I play minecraft with friends and then they quit after a week when the ender dragon is beaten. This one was hard to do but by first changing the gear progression this means it will take more exploration and materials to upgrade your gear to something good. Along with the new gear, tools, and other stuff added you will need to gear up really well for the ender dragon fight. The fight is not to be taken lightly, and you will almost certainly die at least once. Besides the fight being much harder, getting to the end is also a lot more difficult and requires more exploration. Instead of just getting eyes of ender normally you will have to obtain different eyes from doing different things in the game. Normally you will get these just by playing the game normally, but you might have to go out of your way to get all of them.
