This is a TmTmc (Take Me To Minecraft) ModPack of a short list of great mods to get you started with the emphasis of building in mind.  I recommend using CurseForge Launcher to make it easier to get updates in the future.  This is a Forge ModPack only and will not support Fabric at this time and is frequently updated based on performance and usage of each mod.  Some will be added and some will be removed over time.

Advanced Shulkerbox - Adds ability to open a Shulkerbox without having to place it down first

Architectury - API for MineColonies

Balm - API features for Waystones

Better Advancements - Adds a better UI for achievements

BetterF3 - Replaces the F3 Debug screen with bare necessities (and color coded)

Better Title Screen - Changes the Minecraft entry screen to be customized to TmTmc-Colonies

Croptopia - Croptopia adds: 58 ground crops, 26 tree crops, over 250 foods to eat

CyclePaintings - a must have for anyone tired of placing/breaking paintings to find the one you want

EpheroLib - an API for Croptopia

Farsight - increases the distance of viewing

Fast Leaf Decay - Makes leaves decay faster when trunk is broken

FTB Essentials - provides some basic commands to help with navigating worlds

FTB Library - API for FTB Mods 

Geckolib - A 3D animation library for entities, blocks, items, armor, and more!

Guard Villagers - adds guards to your villages for protection

GUI Clock - Displays the in-game time on the screen

GUI Compass - XYZ Coordinates, Time & Direction (N/S/E/W) always visible in top left

Jade - Spinoff of HWYLA for 1.18.x release

JEI - Just Enough Items displays all items in an easy to use window (E) and includes recipes

Just Mob Heads - adds a configurable chance for mobs to drop their head on death

Just Player Heads - allows the collection of player heads via a command or death event

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie - Despite the name, this mod, in a literal sense, lets dogs that have been left sitting down too long, to actually lie down and get some rest

Light Overlay - Allows players to press a key (F7) to show the current light levels around them

Macaw's Bridges - This simple mod adds a variety of bridges. The newest version adds corners, any width and bridge stairs. Bridges can be lighted with torches.

Macaw's Doors - This mod adds a large variety of doors to the game.

NoChatReports - disables player reporting features for safe game play

Patchouli - is a mod that aims to provide easy to implement, data-driven documentation for Minecraft modders and modpack makers alike

Realistic Bees - Realistic Bees is a mod which attempts to make bee behavior more realistic without adding new items or objects to the game. Bees are 25% of their normal size. 

Repurposed Structures - Repurposed Structures is a mod about taking existing vanilla features and structures and creating new variants or modifications to them!

Simple Backups - mod to allow for snapshot and full backups of server

Starter Kit - Provides admins with tools to grant new players a "Kit" filled with tools, armor, food, etc. to give you a fighting chance while you explore.

TreeHarvester - Makes chopping down trees so much faster and easier - break the bottom trunk, everything falls down

TmTmc-ResourcePack - This resource pack provides HD images of blocks/items used in our TmTmc-* mods

Towns and Towers - Expands upon the 1.14 update created by Mojang with new villages, pillager outposts, and even brand-new ships

Waystones - Advanced way to add teleport locations throughout the world (and private ones)

WorldEdit - Advanced editing options for administrators

Xaeros Minimap - Graphical Map of your current location (top/left corner)
