This is a Forge modpack running Forgified Fabric API to run Fabric mods, do expect possible bugs to occur with this combination!
This modpack is no longer being developed and instead being replaced with a revived version at some point, don't expect anymore updates for this pack.
Welcome to Withering Apocalypse! This is a modpack that's focused on surviving the eternal winter known as Frozen Apocalypse which progressively gets more difficult each day, whilst also having a side objective of taking on the Wither Storm and killing the foul beast.

Wither Storm Guide.
Starting from beta 1.5, the Wither Storm progression has changed and will be listed below:
After summoning the Wither Storm once you've acquired 3 Wither Skeleton skulls you must now wait for it to reach phase 5.5 in which it'll spawn a Withered Symbiont when you're close to it, defeating said symbiont will drop 20 tainted dust which will allow you to access both Twilight Forest and The End, both dimensions are required in order to beat the storm!
Super TNT can be acquired via a Custom Boss on top of the Final Castle in Twilight Forest which does require you to progress through Twilight Forest's progression.
The Command Block Book can be acquired by defeating an Ender Guardian in a Ruined Citadel in the outer islands of The End dimension, it's completely up to you which path you take first to beat the storm by either getting the Command Book first or Super TNT but both path's are required.
Defeating the Wither Storm will grant you access to some post Wither Storm items that can only be acquired via the Withered Beacon such as being able to access Ignis's boss fight, once the storm is defeated however you are also rewarded with being able to live in peace in Twilight Forest away from the Overworld which will have turned into a frozen wasteland.
Surviving the Eternal Winter.
Because the sun is moving away from the overworld, you only have a few days to prepare before the surface becomes uninhabitable causing you freeze to death, unless you're wearing a suit of Thermal armor.
This can either be a full set of Leather armor, or Thermal sets of Iron/Diamond and Netherite armor respectively, you can explore the surface unharmed provided you're wearing the correct armor set however, the surface will be turned into a frozen wasteland over time.
As each phase progresses the damage that freezing will inflict upon entities will start off rather weak, but will eventually become more lethal over time, when you reach the final phase the freeze damage will be lethal to the point of killing you within 5 seconds.
As days go by, the Y level that freezing occurs will also continue to drop until it reaches Y level 5 in which it stops there forcing a base underground unless you have a lot of light sources, you can survive the freezing without thermal armor provided you're within a certain distance depending on the light source block.
Starting from pack version beta 1.4 heat from light sources now work differently.
Starting from day 2 the distance you need to be from a heat source decreases by 1 block, so day 2 you can be 13 blocks away from a heat source to avoid freezing.
Day 3 is 12 blocks away.
Day 4 is 11 blocks away.
Day 5 is 10 blocks.
Day 6 is 9 blocks.
Day 7 is 8 blocks.
Day 8 is 7 blocks.
And finally day 9 is 6 blocks.
Thermal armor includes Iron/Diamond/Gold and Netherite, you'll be starting off with Thermal Iron armor which can simply be made by surrounding a piece of Iron armor with leather, same goes for Diamond, this can further be upgraded to Netherite in a smithing table by placing the armor piece along with a smithing upgrade and Netherite Ingot.
Do you have what it takes to survive the winter and defeat the Wither Storm? Play to find out!
Special thanks to sm644me for allowing the use of his custom Wither Storm teleporting and buffed Wither mechanics from Explorer's Eve, go check out his work also! https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/explorers-eve
