I'm a huge fan of PoE and Minecraft, so this modpack was created specifically for people like me. If you just want to kill mobs and create builds, this modpack is for you. The rest of the content is pretty mediocre, but the modpack was made specifically in stile PoE.

ARPG in minecraft is quite refreshing to be honest. Crafting your skill tree in PoE style is something I really like. Still, they need a bit more experience with this in minecraft and their weapon skill set through. Many support gem are not even useful than PoE itself.

The downside is the tedious grind 1000 gear for single useful piece is also fit perfectly into C2E. It's fun when you can keep progressing, even by a little. But it drop to dead once you stuck for hour and hour. Author also put a lot of effort to penalty mob grind and automate as much as they can.

After recent change that gate spawn every where every time, result in clutter mob / item management a lot - make it a totally mass. I try new save after update for better experience.... and I spend 2 in-game day just to deal with them one after another while my base have a single bed, chest here and there on the half dig dirt hill... because killing a zombie or two result in chaos. While I'm being penalty for killing them around my base all the time because they spawn non stop?

Remove of create into botania for power generation shut me down. I not a create person, but botania is a big no for me. It also look mass up in general compare to any tech, magic or create when you try to integrate into base.... at least for non-builder like me.

Force change vanilla villager to a new one? ..... no, a choice would be best.

Overall, if you like unique experience, sure C2E can give you that. One way or another. Just like PoE, you'll love it or hate it. Sadly, recent update make me the later.

No one is gonna read this fucking review, but first, CTE2 is not a bad pack. It's actually balanced pretty nicely and honestly I'm probably not the right demographic to be playing this pack. That being said, I was very disappointed to see Create being removed since it was the only mod what allowed some sort of automation in this pack. I honestly don't know why it was removed? Either way it was replaced by Botania and its an ok mod I guess. But the issue is that the author banned certain items; (Bore, force, damage, entropy, weight, kindle, pantslinger lens, corporea, dice of fate) Dice of fate I get, but removing bore lens (the lens that allows breaking blocks) just removes most of botania automation. I mean there's absolutely no reason to really ban it and the reason (from discord) is that it doesn't work with their chunk claim mod. (Also who uses Flan?) Like no one cares, yeah they can ban it on their server, but most people play modpacks on private servers and if someone does steal or grief they just get banned! Either way I don't really get why they use flan or why they ban it.

I don't like Minecraft Comes Alive. It's like Minecolonies but forced on to the player. Minecolonies is fine, I can avoid if I need to. But MCA just replaces all vanilla villagers and I hate it. Made a villager breeder, only to find out they need cakes? what? So instead I just started abducting them but they're so annoying. (Shut up Ester stop fucking crying and hand over those books). Please bring back normal villagers.

I couldn't build a Create iron farm so I made a vanilla iron farm, even fixing the boat/minecart issue only to find out that there's an anti mob farm mod. Like I get wanting to prevent players from leveling up from farms but removing all mob drops is kinda dumb. I felt like I wasted my time playing this pack, if you like automating stuff don't play it, its purely just a boss killing rpg pack.

Small nitpick, but Joy of painting should be replaced with immersive painting. They do the same thing but you can upload images(memes). Also the MIMI mod kinda sucks, Immersive Melodies does the same thing but already has songs in it and is way better imo.
(No hate to the author, it's good to see packs with a lot of effort out into it. Just hoping something other than botania gets added tbh. Add back create? It goes well with botania)

progress

Progression is the main theme of Craft to Exile 2. Progress through various dimensions as you strengthen your character and hone your build.

Everything in Craft to Exile 2 is configured around progression. Even crafting weapons, scrolls, cooking food, and brewing potions in Craft to Exile 2 is fully integrated with the Mine and Slash progression system. Choose from one of many custom weapon types such as the Dagger, Hammer, or Spear to help you from level, then swap over to a freshly crafted Runeword item later on. With hundreds of custom files, Craft to Exile 2 takes advantage of data packs and CraftTweaker to customize your Mine and Slash experience!

If you're worried that you'll feel lost, don't fret. Thanks to FTB Quests, there are over 250 quests that will guide the player. Ease in with the Prologue Chapter which introduce the player to the main mechanics of the pack, followed by the Main Campaign Acts. Interested in technology and other parts of the pack? Side Quests will guide you along the way.

If you're struggling to find useful weapons and armor, you can engage yourself with the Mine and Slash Profession system to craft yourself gear, foods, potions, and more!

Quest Log:

Act I

Progression Through Dimensions:

Lv. 1-15   -  Overworld

Lv. 10-30 -  Nether

Lv. 25-40 -  Undergarden

Lv. 35-55 -  Everbright/Everdawn

Lv. 50-65 -  The End

Lv. 60-75 -  The Otherside

Lv. 55+    -  Maps (Instanced Dungeons)

Lv. 90+    -  Twilight Forest

Starting at level 55 and once in Act V, Mine and Slash's very own dimensions come into play in the form of Maps. These are instanced dungeons with bosses which provide great experience and loot.

recuperate

For players who value "settling down" in a home base, Craft to Exile 2 includes Minecraft Comes Alive: Reborn. MCA is a powerful mod that lets users interact with villagers in a greater level. You can form relationships, become the mayor and manage the town, and much more!

Included are also various cooking, farming, and fishing mods such as: Farmer's Delight (and many other "Delight's"), Cooking & Farming for Blockheads, and Aquaculture 2. Recipes between cooking mods havebeen revamped to support using foods from other mods. Additionally, foods crafted in Mine and Slash will provide you stat bonuses, and will provide experience towards the Profession system of Mine and Slash.

Spice of Life: Onion Edition is also included to encourage farming and cooking. This mod increases your Health every time you eat a certain number of unique foods. Occasionally, after reaching certain food diversity milestones you can even increase your Move Speed or Block Reach.

Lastly, Botania is included in Craft to Exile 2 as the main magi-tech mod, and is integrated with almost every space of Craft to Exile 2. Understandeably, technology is not for every player, so it is completely optional. Investing in Botania rewards players with combat utilities and can improve your Refined Storage setup!

immerse

Craft to Exile 2 features custom textures and a fully custom main menu. A lot of inspiration was drawn from Diablo II and Path of Exile. Music in Craft to Exile 2 is also custom and many of the music disc music has been replaced via resource packs. Furthermore, many recipes and loot tables have been altered via data packs and CraftTweaker scripts to allow the mods to come together as one!

Want to really immerse yourself? Play instruments with your friends, paint beautiful paintings, and show off your progress with collectible Simple Hats! You can also enhance your gameplay with the prepackaged Complimentary shader packs!

Want to bring it to the NEXT level? Play in VR!
