No one is gonna read this fucking review, but first, CTE2 is not a bad pack. It's actually balanced pretty nicely and honestly I'm probably not the right demographic to be playing this pack. That being said, I was very disappointed to see Create being removed since it was the only mod what allowed some sort of automation in this pack. I honestly don't know why it was removed? Either way it was replaced by Botania and its an ok mod I guess. But the issue is that the author banned certain items; (Bore, force, damage, entropy, weight, kindle, pantslinger lens, corporea, dice of fate) Dice of fate I get, but removing bore lens (the lens that allows breaking blocks) just removes most of botania automation. I mean there's absolutely no reason to really ban it and the reason (from discord) is that it doesn't work with their chunk claim mod. (Also who uses Flan?) Like no one cares, yeah they can ban it on their server, but most people play modpacks on private servers and if someone does steal or grief they just get banned! Either way I don't really get why they use flan or why they ban it.

I don't like Minecraft Comes Alive. It's like Minecolonies but forced on to the player. Minecolonies is fine, I can avoid if I need to. But MCA just replaces all vanilla villagers and I hate it. Made a villager breeder, only to find out they need cakes? what? So instead I just started abducting them but they're so annoying. (Shut up Ester stop fucking crying and hand over those books). Please bring back normal villagers.

I couldn't build a Create iron farm so I made a vanilla iron farm, even fixing the boat/minecart issue only to find out that there's an anti mob farm mod. Like I get wanting to prevent players from leveling up from farms but removing all mob drops is kinda dumb. I felt like I wasted my time playing this pack, if you like automating stuff don't play it, its purely just a boss killing rpg pack.

Small nitpick, but Joy of painting should be replaced with immersive painting. They do the same thing but you can upload images(memes). Also the MIMI mod kinda sucks, Immersive Melodies does the same thing but already has songs in it and is way better imo.
(No hate to the author, it's good to see packs with a lot of effort out into it. Just hoping something other than botania gets added tbh. Add back create? It goes well with botania)

I really liked this pack. The only reason I'm leaving this review is to warn others that Age 4, the final chapter is impossible to do within a reasonable time-frame. To unlock Projecte (philosopher's stone), you require 8 insanium dust to craft it. Seems pretty reasonable until you realize that crafting each tier of MA dust requires antimatter. The recipe uses an 8:1 ratio for every antimatter and using a calculator it takes 37.45k antimatter!? Even with 2 fission reactors running 24/7, it would minimum take a week of waiting to get enough antimatter. That doesn't even mention the sheer amount machines you need to supply it with fissile fuel. Idk if the modpack creator has finished the modpack herself, but I personally would not find it fun to do normal mekanism and then wait hours upon hours for antimatter.
Although I am a bit salty about that recipe, this pack was pretty fun. I liked that the primitive early game didn't go on for too long
I just wished there was a better way to obtain the antimatter or increase amount of MA dust to 8:2

  • Screenshot 1: Great pack, missed the mark on the endgame.

(This only includes the quest progression. Didn't really do much on bosses or exploration. Also spoilers) As of writing this I've managed to to make the tier 3 rocket which is the second last chapter in this pack. Honestly endgame is pretty grindy, I really didn't like that the rocket tiered plating has a 20% chance to become scrap. Ngl it was pretty frustrating to see it fail. Probably the goal is to automate it, but after Chapter 9, the amount of lag around my base was unbearable that I had to make a temporary base to continue. (Edit: honestly it wasn't that bad but the lag made me annoyed at the time) I really hope the author adds something like item pipes(pipez or pretty pipes?) and maybe botany pots because chapter 9 was kinda of a pain to figure out. Create TFMG was pretty neat, although I have to say that its missing electricity and you'll have to make do with alternators. I hope in the future there's other options for electricity. Overall I think the pack is pretty well made, the quests are written in a lot of detail. The Create quest line is very detailed and I think any beginner could play this pack. My only real complaint is that some late game recipes are kind of boring compared to other create packs. But my friends really enjoyed this pack so I definitely recommend it.

Some tips if you play this pack:
To transport items over long distances try using warp portals from ars nouveau rather than trains
Also for short distances, you can command starbuncles to move items for you
A tablet of flight is really useful as it gives you creative flight in a 100 block radius
An early game threshold switch is to use a display case
Try using a magnet upgrade rather than hoppers
If you're looking for drawers, search up limited barrels
Don't bother spending time to automate more cakes for scorchia, make a create tunnel bore and mine netherrack. (4% chance is just too little for the effort)
Look into create connected. Item silos, brass gearbox and blasting catalyst are very useful.
if you want to move molten vents or budding amethyst try crafting a block picker, its not in JEI, but you can still craft it(might be patched)
