While the questbook gives some guidance there's no instructions on how to get past particular choke points or the basic things needed for a skyblock. With the lack of power flowers - getting EMC up to higher levels is a bit of a grind and unfortunately the Create extension that disenchants items (good for mob farm loot) does so to a different XP fluid than the Mob Grinding Utils.
