Working your way up from nothing in TFC, especially with friends, is an experience like no other. Having to actually plan your survival properly is simply amazingly fun and every bit of progression feels spectacularly earned. The search for kaolin clay was about as terrible as the horror stories I'd heard, but the ability to go to the pack's equivalent of the nether and find it much easier solved that problem. The intro to gregtech was very smooth, too, and felt like a natural progression of the terrafirmacraft portion of the game, very seamless. If you have never played TFC before, it's a ton of fun and I think this pack was a perfect intro to it. I burnt out of it very naturally during the gregtech portion and I don't feel bad about it, it was a very fun pack that I knew I wasn't going to finish.

This mod is genuinely just mandatory for any modpack ever. I can't play vanilla Minecraft ever again because of this mod. You will find yourself struggling hard against the inventory management of vanilla MC without the ability to move and sort items the way you can with this mod.

The original stoneblock is a very nostalgic experience for me. Modpacks from this era feel a little less fine tuned than they do nowadays, and the jank shows itself in both good and bad ways with this pack. You can get a sword with Sharpness Gabillion and Looting Bajillion from lootbags, which, being the first modpack I played, severely warped my perception of how quest rewards would work in future modpacks! But I kind of like that about this pack, it sort of doesn't take itself seriously. It has been a while since I played it properly, but it's a very fun pack and I've beaten it a few times. If you're looking for something that is easy to comprehend for someone new to modded MC I think this pack works for that. It's not hard by any means and has a questbook to walk you through things.
