Description
Applied Apothic Enchanting
Connect Apothic Enchanting's libraries to Applied Energistics 2 without turning enchantment points into a duplicated or imaginary inventory.
Applied Apothic Enchanting lets an AE2 Storage Bus treat the Enchantment Library and the Library of Alexandria as real ME storage. Enchanted books are visible in the terminal, can be inserted back into the library, and can be extracted without losing the library's native point-based behavior.
Features
- Exposes both Apothic Enchanting libraries through AE2's public
MEStorageAPI. - Displays real, extractable single-enchantment books in ME terminals.
- Inserts and extracts books with full AE2 simulation support.
- Uses a point-conserving highest-level-first decomposition, preventing the same enchantment points from appearing as several independent book inventories.
- Preserves Apothic's historical maximum-level unlock rules.
- Supports Storage Bus filters, access restrictions, and normal AE2 priorities.
- Adds the Infinite Enchantment Library with a 64-bit point backend.
- Includes a dedicated creative tab and custom purple, gold, and cyan artwork.
- Preserves all library data when the block is broken and placed again.
- Works on dedicated servers.
Infinite Enchantment Library
The Infinite Enchantment Library stores up to Long.MAX_VALUE points for every
enchantment while retaining Apothic's level 31 extraction limit. It deliberately
has no recipe and is intended for creative maps, server rewards, or modpack-defined
progression.
Obtain it from the Applied Apothic Enchanting creative tab or with:
/give @s applied_apothic_enchanting:infinite_library
The original Apothic screen uses 32-bit display fields. Amounts above the Library of Alexandria limit therefore appear as a full bar in that screen, while the exact 64-bit value remains available to AE2 and is preserved in world data.
Storage Semantics
An Apothic library stores points rather than physical books. Reporting every possible level at once would make AE2 count the same points repeatedly. This mod instead decomposes each enchantment's points from the highest unlocked level down.
For example, 13 points with level IV unlocked are displayed as:
- 1 x Level IV book (8 points)
- 1 x Level III book (4 points)
- 1 x Level I book (1 point)
The total always remains exactly 13 points.
The ME interface accepts canonical single-enchantment books. Multi-enchantment books and books carrying custom names, lore, or extra components remain available through Apothic's native interface but are rejected by the ME adapter to prevent silent data loss or ambiguous partial insertion.
Priority
Storage priority is configured on the AE2 Storage Bus. Give the library's Storage Bus a higher priority than ordinary item storage when enchanted books should enter the library first. Supported books are also marked as preferred storage among devices with equal priority.
Requirements
