🔨 Artificer's Almanac
Summary:
Forge modular staffs from 400+ materials, salvage any weapon, draw spell glyphs, raise wards, saddle hostile mobs, break arcane seals, and fill your Almanac!
Forge your ultimate magical weapon! Artificer's Almanac introduces a deep modular staff-crafting system to Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks. Build custom staffs tailored specifically to your magic school, break down found weapons, trap the ground with spell glyphs, erect protective wards, ride hostile mobs, solve puzzle vaults, and infuse your gear with raw mana.
Designed to work fully standalone while offering massive optional integrations across 30+ material, tech, and adventure mods. When paired with Spell Atlas, both books merge seamlessly into a single unified mage journal!
Supports Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge) and 1.20.1 (Forge).
🪄 Modular Staff Crafting
Assemble custom staffs at the Artificer's Table across four integrated tabs: Forge, Infuse, Inscribe, and Upgrade.
-
400+ Crafting Materials (330+ on Forge 1.20.1): Compatible with vanilla Minecraft, Iron's Spells, common tag metals, and major mods (Twilight Forest, The Aether, Deep Aether, Cataclysm, Create, Mekanism, Silent Gear, Mystical Agriculture, Ice and Fire, Embers, Botania, Ars Nouveau, Oritech, Eternal Starlight, and many more). Materials load automatically and grant unique set bonuses!
-
Distinct Material Visuals & Forms: Parts visually reflect their material (diamonds glint, netherite shows armor plating, bone features jointed ends, woods display grain). Features 8 crystal cuts, 7 pommel heads, 7 shaft forms, and 6 core frame structures (rings, crescents, tridents, spirals, cages, horns).
-
School-Specific Cores: Forge cores using magic school focuses to grant unique 3D staff heads—claws, flames, ice shards, halos, crescents, or tentacled eyes. (Full support for Iron's Spells addon schools!).
-
Rarities, Affixes & Sets: Features 7 rarity tiers (Common up to Cataclysmic, with Mythic between Legendary and Cataclysmic), 36 unique affixes across 6 families, 30+ material origin set bonuses, and 10 legendary boss-drop staffs.
-
Imbuing & Upgrades: Inscribe Iron's Spells scrolls directly into staff cores to cast spells like imbued weapons. A single Upgrade Stone handles binding, tempering, clearing, and salvaging, with full support for Arcane Anvil upgrades!
-
4 Crafting Tiers: Progression unlocks from Apprentice to Archmage using Artificer's Notes.
-
Clear Tooltips & Previews: Real-time stat previews on the table and Shift-hover comparisons with your equipped staff.
⚒️ Salvaging, Infusion & Mechanics
-
Salvage Anvil: Disassemble any modular staff or pre-existing weapon (Iron's Spells and addon staffs included) to recover reusable parts and Arcane Dust.
-
Mana Infusion & Resonating Gear: Charge modular staffs or Manasteel equipment with mana for lower spell costs, higher damage, and active mana shields. Gear can gain up to 5 permanent Resonance levels via table rituals!
-
Manalite Cells & Condenser: Compress personal mana into portable cells (worn in inventory or Curios slots) that automatically supply mana for spellcasting, wards, glyphs, and gear infusion.
-
Overcast & Spell Siphon: Cast beyond your mana pool into mana debt (risking instability), or equip Curios like the Spell Siphon to absorb and reflect incoming spell projectiles.
-
Contingency Charms & Unidentified Scrolls: Craft auto-casting emergency charms (triggers on low health, fire, drowning, poison, freezing, or lava) or gamble on unidentified scrolls at the Arcane Lectern.
✨ Glyphs, Wards & Arcane Saddles
-
Spell Glyphs: Draw glyphs on the ground using Runic Chalk, bind a scroll, and fuel it with a Manalite Cell. Glyphs trigger when stepped on by enemies, activated via redstone, or set on a timer!
-
Arcane Wards: Deploy powered field emitters—Nullstone (silences casting), Wellspring (restores mana to allies), or Aegis (mitigates incoming spell damage).
-
Arcane Saddles: Ride passive mobs, hostiles (up to 40 HP), any non-boss mob, or even bosses (Mythic Saddles require boss relics!). Saddled hostile mobs will never attack their rider and fight by your side.
🔮 Arcane Seals & Vault Crypts
-
Interactive Arcane Seals: Puzzle mechanisms requiring correct spell casting, sequence repetition, co-op harmony, mirror beam redirection, or spell echoing. Failure causes Mana Sickness!
-
Dungeon Vaults & Structure Loot: Explore underground Sealed Vaults for rare loot, discover Sealed Caches (compatible with Lootr), or refine your skills on penalty-free Practice Seals. Custom loot is distributed across major structure mods (Twilight Forest, The Aether, Ice and Fire, YUNG's, etc.).
-
Manasteel Equipment: Mine Manalite ore across dimensions to forge deep-blue armor and tools that consume mana instead of durability, enabling 3x3 mining and double-jumping! (Combines with Tempest Almanac's Astralite to form Starsteel).
📘 The Almanac Journal
An in-game guide book featuring eight interactive tabs:
-
Collection & Bestiary: Track discovered materials, affixes, seals, legendary items, and set bonuses sorted by class and category.
-
Quests & Progression: Complete over 30 quests across 5 chapters (including glyph, ward, and saddle quests), earn stat-boosting Titles, unlock Artificer Perks, and read mod lore.
-
Perk System: Purchase 9 artificer perks (cheaper forging, bonus salvage dust, stronger seals) using Arcane Points (with Spell Atlas) or Arcane Dust.
🔌 Requirements & Mod Compatibility
-
Required: Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge 21.1.250+) OR 1.20.1 (Forge 47.4.10+) + Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks 3.16+ (and Curios API). Install on both client and server.
Optional Integrations:
-
📖 Spell Atlas (Recommended): Merges both books into a single interface with shared titles, perks, challenge goals, and staff part drops from Nemeses and Anomalies.
-
🌩️ Tempest Almanac: Enables Starsteel forging by combining Manasteel with Astralite.
-
🎒 Curios API: Dedicated slots for Siphons, Contingency Charms, and Mana Cells.
-
🏰 Lootr / Structure Mods: Spawns parts, scrolls, and dust in chests across Twilight Forest, The Aether, Ice and Fire, Eternal Starlight, YUNG's Series, Terralith, and more.
-
🔍 JEI / EMI / Jade: Full recipe lookups for forging, salvaging, condensing, and infusing. Jade displays table tiers, glyph triggers, ward radiuses, and mob saddle tiers in real time.
-
♻️ Almost Unified / JAOPCA: Full tag unification support across material mods.
