Description

What is this?

An improved version of Minecraft's beacon. Now, you have a new UI, new features, fresh effects, and even new advancements. This is a highly configurable mod. Please read the wiki to understand how to use the new tags and datapack folders added by the mod. TL;DR at the end.

You can choose between two UIs: one that contains the tertiary effects and another that doesn't (you can enable/disable the tertiary effects). In the first UI, you can also see which payment item has been used to activate the beacon. Note that to have the tertiary effects, the beacon will need to be at level 5.

T.P - Stands for "Tertiary Power"

C.P - Stands for "Current Payment"

The pyramid sprite has changed to introduce new players to the diversity of blocks that can be used for the pyramid. This showcases Gold, Emerald, Copper, Diamond, Netherite (in the first UI), and Iron as blocks that can be used to structure the pyramid.

Visible in the secondary power slot, you can now preview where the upgrade of the primary effect will appear. The vanilla behavior causes it to pop in and out of existence, which is not visually acceptable.

The Cancel Button now serves a new purpose! Previously, it was used to exit the beacon. It can now be utilized to cancel the beacon's effects whenever an effect is activated.

Copper can now be used to activate and build the beacon.

The payment items used to activate the beacon also help increase its range. Copper is the weakest, and netherite is the strongest. They contribute to the default range of the beacon. The range for each payment item is controlled by a JSON file, which can be modified using datapacks. You can also add items from other mods. See images.

Night vision and fire resistance effects have been added to the beacon. Night vision is beneficial for builders and miners, while fire resistance enhances the beacon's utility in the Nether.

Three new effects have been added to the beacon: Long Reach increases the range at which players can interact with blocks, Phantom Bane prevents phantoms from spawning within the beacon's range, and Patrol Nullifier prevents patrols from spawning within the beacon's range.

All effects can be changed at the config file.

Depending on the base block used to construct the beacon, the strength of the primary effects will increase. In the image, I'm using Netherite blocks as a beacon base. The strength for each base block is controlled by a JSON file, which can be modified using datapacks. You can also add blocks from other mods.

You can use amethyst clusters to redirect the beacon's beam. However it still needs to be pointed to the sky to work.

You can change the opacity of the beacon's beam using the tinted glass block. When you use three the beam will become invisible.

Other minor features have been added, such as tooltips for the cancel and confirm buttons. Additionally, the beacon can now be waterlogged and conduct redstone, keeping parity with the Bedrock edition.

TL;DR

  • Enhanced Minecraft beacon with new UI, features, effects, and advancements.
  • Highly configurable mod; consult the wiki for details on tags and datapack folders.
  • Two UI options: one with tertiary effects and visible current payment item.
  • The cancel button is now used to remove the active effects.
  • Copper can activate and build the beacon.
  • Payment items influence range; copper is weak, netherite is strong.

  • New effects: Long Reach, Phantom Bane, and Patrol Nullifier.
  • Base block choice impacts effect strength.
  • Amethyst clusters redirect the beacon's beam; tinted glass controls beam opacity.
