Description

This mod adds a bunch of new Poké Balls to Cobblemon. These balls can be divided into:

  • Dyed Balls:
    • Using a dye, up to 4 Poké, Great or Ultra balls can be dyed one of the 16 different minecraft colors!
    • They function identically to the regular balls of that tier, just a palette swap.
    • Includes Ancient Variants!
  • Weather Balls:
    • Balls that the capture rate changes with the weather
    • One for each weather, and one for Clear skies (no weather)
    • Increases capture rate even outside of battle with minecraft weather (sunny, rain, snow in frozen biomes)
  • Stats Balls
    • Balls that capture based on the stat difference between player mon and target;
    • One for all Stats that can be increased in battle (No HP, Yes Evasion and Accuracy)
    • Formula is 1 + (Our Stat - Enemy Stat) x 0.5 for positive stat sum, with 0 being 1x, 6 (max stats) being 3 and 12 (min stats on target stat + max stats on ours) being 6x capture;
    • Formula is 1/(1 + (Our Stat - Enemy Stat) x 0.5) for negative values, with 0.3x for min stats on your side and 0.167x on -12 max stat difference.
  • Status Balls
    • Balls that have 3x catch rate on pokemon with that status condition;
    • One for each status condition, including separate between Toxic and Poison;
    • Also includes a Purity ball for capture with no status and a Status ball for capture with any status.
  • Type Balls
    • Balls that are more effective against a opponent of that specific Type;
    • One for each Type, in a section of 3 tiers:
      • Weak X-type Ball : 2x catch rate on X-Typed mons (same as ultraball, but can be made with copper.
      • X-Type Ball: 3x catch rate on X-Typed mons (like the net ball)
      • Ultra X-Type Ball: 6x catch rate on X-Typed mons, but much more expensive
  • Syphon Balls
    • Balls that have average to poor capture rate, but produce items from the pokemon captured;
    • Syphon Ball:
      •  1x capture rate when above 50% health, 0.5x when below;
      • Makes the pokemon hate you and return to lvl 1 when captured, but...
      • Grants XP candies based on the total XP of the pokemon.
      • Very cheap!
    • Royal Ball
      • 1x capture rate
      • Generates a gem per type of the mon, with monotyped giving two gems of the same type.
      • Tera types different from the mons general type generate an extra gem!
      • Great for farming for gems for typed balls!
    • IV-Syphon ball
      • 1x capture rate when above 50% health, 0.5x when below;
      • Makes the pokemon hate you when captured, but...
      • Makes all IVs 15, and generates the IV candies to "remake" the original stats.
      • Not craftable (yet, might be in the future) due to the overpoweredness.

From Version 1.1 onwards:

  • Ball Swapper:
    • Made with a Link cable and any Dyable poke ball;
    • Used for swapping a pokemon's caught ball;
    • To use, place a ball on your off-hand, use the swapper, and the pokemon gets the new ball!
    • The ball is consumed, the ball swapper is forever!
  • Move Balls:
    • Balls that teach 1 move to the caught pokemon;
    • Comes in TM, Move Tutor and Egg move variants.
  • Old-style Pokeballs:
    • Special thanks to Twispan for allowing me to use his old style pokeball resource;
    • Balls that are styled on the ones Samuel Oak uses in the movie!
    • Come in all three Tiers (Poke, Great and Ultra Balls), in all 16 dyable forms!
    • Craftable with any apricorn, the desired color dye and a copper, iron or gold ingot;
    • Procuces 1 ball per bar, but can be crafted on the inventory crafting grid, for on-the-go ball crafting!

From version 1.2 Onwards:

  • Dark Ball:
    • Guaranteed Capture
    • IVs and Ride stats are maxed
    • Makes friendship permanently 0
    • Cannot be swapped out with the ball swapper
    • No default recipe (Creative only)
  • Clone Ball (Mewtwo's Ball):
    • The ball clones any pokemon it hits when empty and adds it to your roster.
    • The original pokemon is unaffected, and the battle does not stop when you use it.
    • Should also work on other player's pokemon and trainer npc pokemon, but needs further testing.
    • No default Recipe (Creative Only)
  • Fake Clone Ball:
    • An Ultra Ball in disguise, identical in shape,color and size to the original Clone Ball.
    • Crafted with black, yellow and red apricorns and Gold.

This mod also adds an EV Syphoning potion that can extract the EVs from a pokemon and turn them into equivalent EV increasing items (Vitamins, mochi and feathers), and a XP Syphoning potion with the same effects as the Syphon ball.

Note: While this mod is usable on 1.7.1 and above, the recommended version is 1.7.3+, due to a bug that did not allow modders to change the UI ball graphic on the previous versions. So, if you can, use 1.7.3 or above, If not, the UI ball in the party side bar will be a purple-black square

Also, while this mod is for Fabric and Neoforge, I haven't tested it much in Neoforge, as most cobblemon modpacks I play are in Fabric. As such, it was just tested for a couple of hours, not days like the Fabric version.

Finally, any errors or anything of the kind, please post on the comments. I might take a few days to respond, but i'll try my best to fix any errors for now.

If you are curious on how to add balls to a mod, you can check the wiki page on the source for this mod. In it, I try my best to explain how to implement a new pokeball (what you need, what code needs to be there).
