Description

Conquest of Westeros

CONQUEST OF WESTEROS is a 1.20.1 Port/Remake of the Game Of Thrones mod by Hummel009 (https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/gotminecraftmod). This mod aims to not only faithfully recreate the original mod, but also to evolve upon the ideas set forth.

Explore Westeros and Essos, encounter their peoples and factions, arm yourself with equipment inspired by the world of A Song of Ice and Fire, travel between settlements, trade, fight, explore, and carve out your own place in the Seven Kingdoms.

How is Conquest of Westeros different from the original mod?

Conquest of Westeros is not simply a direct port of the 1.7.10 Game of Thrones mod.

The original mod provides the foundation, but the 1.20.1 version has been extensively rebuilt around modern Minecraft and a different approach to progression, exploration, world population, equipment, crafting, and gameplay.

Rather than attempting to reproduce every old mechanic exactly as it existed in 1.7.10, Conquest of Westeros preserves the world and identity of the original while replacing, rebuilding, or expanding systems where appropriate.

Everything described below is part of the current 1.0 release—not a list of planned features.

Explore Westeros and Essos

Travel through a world inspired by the lands of A Song of Ice and Fire, with regions populated according to their cultures and allegiances.

Waypoints connect important locations and provide a structured method of traveling across the enormous world. Regional populations, structures, wildlife, faction NPCs, traders, soldiers, and other inhabitants help make the spaces between major locations feel like an inhabited world rather than an empty map.

Smaller modular structures can generate around appropriate regions and waypoints, creating houses, stores, smithies, and other signs of settlement without covering the landscape in structures.

Factions and NPCs

The world is populated by numerous Westerosi and Essosi factions with their own soldiers, equipment, settlements, allegiances, and regional identities.

Alongside ordinary faction populations are named characters from Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire, civilian professions, merchants, military NPCs, mounted units, and special creatures.

NPCs aren't limited to standing around settlements. Different populations can appear naturally throughout appropriate parts of the world.

Conquest

Westeros isn't merely a map to explore.

The Conquest system allows control of territory to change through conflict. Regional allegiance, important locations, faction control, and player actions contribute to a larger territorial system designed around the political warfare of Westeros.

Players can interact with a world in which political borders aren't necessarily permanent.

Weapons and Armor

Conquest of Westeros contains an extensive collection of Westerosi and Essosi equipment, including:

  • Swords

  • Longswords

  • Greatswords

  • Scimitars

  • Daggers

  • Spears

  • Pikes

  • Polearms

  • Battle axes

  • Throwing axes

  • Hammers

  • Bows and crossbows

  • Regional shields

  • Multiple armor styles

  • Faction-specific equipment

Equipment isn't simply dumped into a normal Crafting Table.

Westerosi and Essosi faction crafting tables determine which regional equipment can be produced, creating a distinction between equipment manufactured in different parts of the world.

Iron, Alloy Steel and Valyrian Steel

Weapons progress through multiple material tiers.

Ordinary iron provides accessible equipment, while Alloy Steel represents high-quality late-game weaponry.

Above it sits Valyrian Steel.

Valyrian Steel is exceptionally valuable and serves as the foundation of the mod's highest weapon progression.

Legendary Weapons

Many famous weapons from the setting are obtainable, including iconic named blades and weapons associated with characters and Houses throughout Westeros.

The Valyrian Blade Cutter provides the central Legendary Weapon progression system.

Craft a Valyrian Steel weapon, place it into the Blade Cutter, and convert it into an appropriate Legendary Weapon.

This makes Legendary equipment part of an actual progression system rather than simply another collection of recipes in a Crafting Table.

Specialized Crafting and Industry

Conquest of Westeros includes several functional crafting and processing stations beyond vanilla Minecraft.

These include the:

  • Alloy Forge

  • Faction Crafting Tables

  • Valyrian Blade Cutter

  • Oven

  • Fermentation Barrel

  • Millstone

  • Coin Exchange

  • Unsmeltery

  • Command Table

  • Beacon

Different materials, foods, equipment, and resources move through their appropriate systems rather than relying entirely on the vanilla Crafting Table.

Economy and Trading

Coins form a functioning currency system with multiple denominations.

NPC professions offer appropriate goods: Blacksmiths sell blacksmithing equipment, Farmers provide agricultural tools and supplies, Lords provide military equipment, and other traders offer goods appropriate to their roles and regions.

The Coin Exchange allows currency denominations to be consolidated and exchanged without forcing players to manage piles of individual low-value coins.

Food, Farming and Brewing

The mod contains expanded food and agricultural systems, including regional crops, ingredients, prepared foods, drinks, milling, cooking, and fermentation.

Players can process ingredients using dedicated blocks such as the Millstone, Oven, and Fermentation Barrel.

Wildlife and Creatures

Westeros and Essos are populated by more than humans.

The world contains wildlife such as birds, deer, bears, bison, wolves and other animals alongside horses and other mounts.

More dangerous creatures also exist, including Stone Men, Giants, Wights, White Walkers, Werewolves, Wraiths, and other threats drawn from the setting.

Mounts

Horses and other appropriate creatures can serve as mounts, and mounted NPCs form part of regional military populations.

Cavalry is therefore an actual part of the world rather than merely being represented by infantry NPCs carrying different equipment.

Crime and Bounties

Your actions have consequences.

Crime, bounty, and related systems allow hostile or unlawful actions to affect how the world responds to the player.

Quests, Lore and Achievements

Conquest of Westeros includes quests, lore content, achievements, named NPC interactions, and systems designed to encourage exploration beyond simply collecting equipment.

The world contains characters and discoveries tied to the setting, providing direction while still allowing the mod to function as an open sandbox.

Fast Travel and Waypoints

The scale of Westeros makes transportation important.

The waypoint system connects major locations and allows long-distance travel while maintaining the sense that locations exist within a much larger world.

Players still need to discover and interact with the world rather than treating the entire map as a collection of instantly accessible menu destinations.

Built for Minecraft 1.20.1

Conquest of Westeros takes the foundation of a beloved 1.7.10 mod and brings it into a substantially newer Minecraft environment.

The goal of 1.0 is straightforward:

Preserve what made the original Game of Thrones mod recognizable while creating a version of Westeros that functions as a complete, playable experience on modern Minecraft.

This is Conquest of Westeros 1.0.

old Dragons with far more updated versions and include compatability with Epic Fight and Better Combat.
