Create: Hired Hands
No reviews yet
Bring your factory to life with working factory workers. Villagers feed your Create presses, saws, mixers and more: they fetch the ingredients, run the machine and deliver the product to a chest or belt. Early version.

About
Description
Place a Workshop next to a Create machine and give it an order, such as "Make 64 Iron Sheets". A villager will gather the required ingredients from nearby storage, feed them into the machine, wait for the process to finish, and then deliver the completed product to the designated output.
This is an addon for Create 6.0, designed to make your factory feel more alive and active. I've also tested it with MCA Reborn, which gives villagers more player-like behaviour and animations. However, standard vanilla villagers work perfectly fine as well.
Available Workshops
- Mechanical Press
- Mechanical Saw
- Mechanical Mixer
- Mechanical Compactor
- Millstone
- Fan Processing (Washing, Smoking, Blasting, and Haunting)
- Spout
- Sequenced Assembly Workshop (Tracks, Precision Mechanisms, and more)
Setup
1. Input Supply
Anything containing or transporting items that touches the Workshop can be used as a supply source:
- Chests
- Barrels
- Belts
- Depots
A belt passing items by the Workshop works just as well as a chest placed next to it.
2. Output
Right-click a chest, barrel, depot, or belt while holding the Workshop item to assign it as the output destination, similar to how the Mechanical Arm is configured. Finished products will be delivered there by the villager.
3. Orders
Right-click the Workshop to create production orders. Multiple orders can be queued at the same time.
4. Auto Mode
Auto Mode continuously maintains a single recipe without manual intervention. Combined with a Packager and Factory Gauge, Workshops can be integrated into larger Create logistics systems.
5. Fluids and Heating
Fluid ingredients can be supplied through buckets, bottles, or connected pipes. Heated recipes require a Blaze Burner beneath the basin, just like standard Create processing setups.
Villagers
Vanilla villagers work out of the box.
MCA Reborn support is completely optional and only adds enhanced villager animations and interactions. Any unemployed villager that stays near a Workshop will automatically take on the role of Engineer and begin operating machines.
Early Development
This is still an early version of the mod. My current focus is improving the user interface and refining how the Factory Gauge and production order systems interact with each other. I am also not sure how it behaves in combination with other mods that drastically change the way villagers work.
Feedback, suggestions, and ideas are very welcome!
Future plans
improving the textures to be more in line with create style
More intergration with MCA to make factories even more alive with mood trackers etc and maybe some economy form that demands food or some soort of compensation for work
adding more workshop types
Child labor?
Several workers per workshop, so one workshop can run faster
Being able to use multiple workstations and spread out work over depots for example
Improve linking systems for the workshop so you can select the specific workplaces
