Description

The engineers in the valley have built machines that never tire. One cogwheel turns the next, and the turning runs down their shafts like water down a stream. They call it rotation. I call it Motus, held in brass.

I held my thaumometer to one of their gears. It sang of Machina and Motus, like any device of mine. Their works are not so different from my own. They are only louder.

Last night I poured a phial of Potentia into one of their pipes. This morning a turbine stands beside my altar, and the shafts are still turning. I do not remember building it.

Create: Thaumaturgy is an addon that joins Thaumaturge to Create. The thaumaturge's research and the engineer's rotation finally work together.

Essentia becomes a liquid you can pipe, bottle and burn. Vis turns shafts, spinning gyroscopes steady an infusion, and written formulas let machines craft and infuse on their own. Golems turn cranks and ride trains, and mirrors carry packages across the world. A few things are best discovered for yourself.

It keeps its notes in a new section of the Thaumonomicon, and every machine has a Ponder scene: hold W over it.

Where to begin

Turn your thaumometer on a cogwheel, or a piece of andesite alloy. The book will take it from there.

Requirements

  • NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1
  • Create 6.0.10 or later in the 6.0 line (required)
  • Thaumaturge for Minecraft 1.21.1 (required), with its own requirements, Lithostitched and Curios
  • JEI and Jade are supported if installed

For modpack makers

Every balance number lives in create_thaumaturgy-server.toml, and each recipe family can be switched off in create_thaumaturgy-common.toml. Fuels, aspects and golem strengths are tags and data maps, so a datapack can change them.
