# Echo Crossbow

Echo Crossbow is a standalone weapon mod for Minecraft Forge 1.20.1.

The mod adds a special crossbow powered by Echo Shards. Instead of firing arrows or fireworks, the Echo Crossbow releases a sonic attack inspired by the Warden's sonic boom.

## Main Features

- Adds the Echo Crossbow.
- Uses only Echo Shards as ammunition.
- Consumes one Echo Shard per shot.
- Does not accept arrows or fireworks.
- Has the same durability and base charging speed as a vanilla crossbow.
- Fires a Warden-style sonic boom.
- The sonic attack can pass through solid blocks.
- Uses Warden-style damage, armor and shield interaction.
- Uses approximately the same attack range as the Warden's sonic boom.
- Includes a complete loading animation.
- Displays an Echo Shard inside the crossbow when fully charged.
- Works in singleplayer and multiplayer.
- Has no required dependencies.

## Loading and Firing

Hold the use button to load the Echo Crossbow.

The crossbow has three visible loading stages. When loading is complete, an Echo Shard becomes visible inside the weapon.

Release the use button to store the charged shot. Use the crossbow again to fire the sonic attack.

One Echo Shard is consumed for every shot.

## Sonic Attack

The Echo Crossbow fires a directional sonic wave based on the Warden's sonic boom.

The attack:

- travels through blocks;
- can hit a target on the other side of a wall;
- uses Warden-style sonic particles and sounds;
- follows the Warden sonic attack's damage behavior;
- follows the same armor and shield interaction;
- does not create a recoverable projectile.

## Supported Enchantments

The Echo Crossbow supports:

- Quick Charge
- Unbreaking
- Mending
- Curse of Vanishing

The following crossbow enchantments do not work with the Echo Crossbow:

- Multishot
- Piercing

Multishot and Piercing are disabled because the weapon fires a single sonic wave instead of a normal projectile.

## Crafting Recipe

The Echo Crossbow is crafted using one vanilla crossbow and four Echo Shards.

## Installation

1. Install Minecraft Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1.
2. Place the Echo Crossbow JAR file into the `mods` folder.
3. Install the same mod version on the server when playing multiplayer.
4. Start Minecraft.
