Context: This may be influenced by the fact, that they forked one of my mods

Alright, so this mod claims to fix an issue within the original Ender's Modpack Tweaks. Usually this is nice for mods that have been abandoned and are in dire need for fixes. Sadly this isn't the case for this one.

In their description they state that they can't be bothered with opening a PR to actually fix the issue in the base mod, which is like fine in my opinion, but it would be great if they at least created an issue on the bugtracker or reached out to me somewhere to let me know something is broken.

So my next step was to at least look up the fix so I can backport it on my end as well - turns out there is no source available, so I can't simply confirm what he fixed. I then tried to at least replicate the issue they claim to have, which was a rendering issue with my implementation of "Neat" when run under cleanroom. So I setup a quick instance just to find out that I was unable to replicate it on my end - so I sadly don't know what the mod tries to fix.

The next question would be if they intend to maintain this fork in the future, but it is sad to see such behavior in our small community. I currently have no intend on reporting his fork or anything, but I would have at least appreciated a bug report or something similar.

Description

Ender's Modpack Tweaks: Cleanroom Health Bar Fix

MC 1.12.2 // Forge

(emtchbf for short)

tl;dr

Fixes mob health bars being rendered as a sad gray box on newer Cleanroom versions.

what changed

  • health bars actually render again
  • colors, mob name, HP text and icons are back
  • cleaned up the rendering code so future Cleanroom/Kirino compatibility fixes are easier

Nothing else should change. Same health bars, just without the gray rectangle.

why is this here

I just uploaded it here so people can download the fix faster. I'm too lazy to make a PR right now and don't wanna wait multiple months until it gets merged and pushed to CurseForge, and I have multiple other projects going on anyway. This was just something that really, really annoyed me since I use the mod in my own pack, so I fixed it.

If Cleanroom broke other parts of the mod, feel free to leave a comment. I can take a look and fix those too if I can and have time.

disclaimer

I think this only happens when a specific other mod is present. My modpack has around 400 mods, and 200+ of them touch various OpenGL-related classes, so I didn't bother trying to track down the exact conflict. Instead, I made the rendering logic a bit safer so it should handle the situation properly.

Pls don't hate me if this isn't the "proper" way 😭. If anyone wants to investigate the exact cause, feel free. This was really just a quick fix for my own modpack.

I don't intend to make any money from this, and Ender's Modpack Tweaks is MIT-licensed, so I'm pretty sure I'm in the clear lol. This exists because I use the mod myself and the broken health bar was annoying me.

// apparently some people don't read past the first paragraph

//sad to see such behaviour in our small community
