Description

Exhausted

Minecraft is easy, isn't it? This mod is dedicated to provide an immersive and challenging early and mid game experience in your world by adding stamina. While being rewarded with positive effects at high stamina, you quickly get into dangerous situations once running low.

Stamina

You'll have a set amount of stamina that is used up by pretty much everything you can do. It also considers your worn armor! To make up for the consumption, you have a natural generation. But the mod also provides more efficient ways to recover.
Adds a stamina bar with a configurable position to your GUI

Recovery

The best way to rest is to sleep. But make sure you feel **comfortable** enough in order to take a rest. Alternatively you can also sit (interact with empty main hand on the block below you) on nearly every block in the game to regenerate your stamina faster.
…although being in a dark cave, sitting on cold, hard stones might not be the best place to rest properly…

Comfort

Because the recovery while sitting on or sleeping in a bed is very strong, but the requirements to build a bed are pretty low, this mod introduces a comfort system. The approach is to encourage you to build a base that provides enough comfort to sit or sleep while not restricting your creativity at all.
When you try to rest, your surroundings get scanned, aiming to detect a room (not a requirement). Based on that room or scanned area, your comfort gets determined.
In game you will receive hints on how to raise your comfort.
To check your comfort level in a certain area, crouch while interacting with the block below you.

You'll receive tips on how to raise your comfort if you don't have enough

Late Game | Level System

Quality of Life shouldn't be gifted, nor excluded but earned. Therefore, you can improve your stamina level by — well — using stamina. Each level permanently increases your regeneration and reduces your stamina costs for everything, allowing you to largely ignore your stamina as you progress, while still receiving the buffs as long as your stamina is mostly full.

Items

Craft the hiking boots from a few inexpensive materials accessible early in the game to avoid jumping by walking up entire blocks like slabs, saving you stamina!

Mod compatibilities

Exhausted should be compatible with every mod that allows you to sit to increase your stamina regeneration without having to add them to a whitelist. Sitting in vehicles is excluded. The comfort system also provides by default compatibility with all mods that contain "furniture" and "macaw" in their name.
Please let me know if you run in incompatibilities.

Configs

I am aware that the line between challenging and frustrating is very fine and individual. That's why I've added highly customizable configurations that allow you to configure almost every single variable, from stamina generation to consumption for every single movement or action, to every single parameter of the comfort system, including block, keyword, and mod whitelists for proper compatibility.

I recommend installing and using the Configured Mod for an in-game interface to edit the configs.

Commands

  • /comfort get
  • /stamina [level/exp] [set/add/remove] [amount] [player]

Level cap is 20. Target player is optional.
