I don't have much to say about Farmer's Delight, to put it simply though:

The good:

  1. Very clear and realistic, in a sense that everything it adds is coherent, it adds more crops, adds knife which you can use to cut meats, adds cooking pots to cook more foods, even adds more vanilla like interaction where you can strip wood with axes. You can make up everything here logically.
  2. Not bloated, in a sense that the additions it adds doesn't immediately overwhelm you, as this is one of my issue with Pam's Harvestcraft but Farmer's Delight introduces everything in itself in a very clear and engaging way as compared as to infodump everything. This is also prevalent due to how FD has simply more processing chains via cutting board, cooking pot, etc etc, which does limit how much information were being dumped to you.

I don't think i can really say anything bad about this mod, it just does it's job, it's integrated with a lot of things, has a lot of addons, it's in almost every pack nowadays, but most of the time it doesn't really affect you that much as FD more and more feels like a must use mod and not one that get's shoved into your face, it's just there and it works for any kind of packs that it's in, W mod

I'll start this review by stating how much this mod blows other cooking mods out of the water. I remember starting Minecraft really enjoying Pam's Harvestcraft followed later by Croptopia, but those mods often added many plants that just felt like reskins of each other. Farmer's delight is different. The polish and care put into making sure every ingredient serves its purpose and to make sure that every food item has a use is incredible, and the actual cooking mechanics such as the skillet, chopping board and pot are really well implemented.

Crops in this mod are obtained and grown in unique ways, with wild crops found scattered in different biomes. Tomato bushes can be grown and repeatedly repicked like sweet berries but rope can be used to increase their max height, making them an interesting new crop type.

This mod has also made way for a plethora of inventive and interesting addons, many of which build on the base mod in incredibly interesting ways. I mention this because of how easy it is to add new food items to farmer's delight and how easy it is to create and customise recipes. I would highly recommend people try this with some of the high quality addons there are to offer.

I would recommend this to anyone who likes cozy mods and variety in gameplay styles.

I enjoy using this mod, especially when paired with nutrition and or spice of life, has a wide range of ingredients and food, has integration with many mods, has tons of addons that add even more foods or ingredients, i haven't tried Pam's Harvestcraft so cannot compare it with that, it is truly a delightful mod, i have no complaints, it's a very well-designed mod that raised the standard of Minecraft modding.

Overview

There are very few mods that have become quite as well know as Farmers Delight, or mods that have had quite as many addons created for them. Now this is for very good reason, Farmers Delight really was one of the first mods to really raise the standards for modding as a whole, with perfectly designed vanilla+ textures, simple and intuitive gameplay elements, adding just enough to make farming feel expanse but not enough to feel overwhelming.

And with both its MIT licensing and easy to integrate systems its allowed for an unimaginably large suite of addons that range from mods as simple as expanding the number of vegetables to mods that let you cook up the monsters in your world.

There really is very little negative that can be said for this mod, the only negative feedback you ever heard for this mod is that is overused in packs, While I can't disagree with this as it definitely is I also can't blame this on the mod itself and there are definitely a large number of modpacks that put the time and effort into creative implementations of this mods.

No complaints from me.

Farmer's delight is a mod that can be added to every modpack but it's not overstaying its welcome yet, miraculously.

It builds on the shoulders of prior mods of this genre like Pam's harvestcraft and offers a lowered amount of crop variety in exchange for more interactive cooking and a sturdy foundation for a whole library of add-ons. The latest update that dropped added a bunch of QOL features (cutting STACKS on the cutting board!!) and other things that made an already finished mod even better.

Description

Farmer's Delight

Farmer's Delight is a mod that gently expands upon farming and cooking in Minecraft.

Using a simple cooking system and a few familiar ingredients, you'll be able to prepare a wide variety of hearty meals: from sandwiches to salads and stews, from beautiful desserts to mouth-watering feasts, no ingredient will be left behind in your kitchen!

It also introduces a rich set of utilities: a way to improve the very soil your crops grow in, a brand new kind of tool to scavenge resources with, cute decorations for your builds, and many blocks and items to help you on your adventure!

It's time to farm a little bit of everything!

📖 Getting Started

Follow the advancements! Much of its progression is described through them. By default, press the (L) key to open the Advancements screen.

If you'd rather get a more straight-forward guide, we wrote a Getting Started to help you learn the basics!
