Description
Friendly Creeper
Meet the Crep: a creeper that doesn't blow up. Tame it, dress it, raise it, and take it along on your adventures.
What's new in 1.1.0
- Scarves in 16 colours. Each comes in three types (plain, golden ring and diamond), so there are 48 scarves in total.
- Gunpowder farming. A tamed adult Crep drops gunpowder every 7–14 minutes while it's healthy.
- Guard mode. Your Crep now has four modes: Follow, Sit, Guard and Wander. Guard keeps it at its post to defend the spot.
- Emergency puff. At low health your Crep launches nearby enemies away (no damage, no broken blocks), then retreats and heals up.
- Stronger helmets. Every helmet type gives different health, damage reduction and attack damage, and helmet enchantments work.
- Wilder wild Creps. Wild Creps spook easily like cats, hide from the rain under houses and trees, and eat leaves and berries.
- Vanilla creepers eat plants too, and you can breed them to get baby Creps.
- Baby Creps have favourite foods. Feed it the right one and it hops with joy. A golden dandelion keeps a baby small.
- 27 advancements, from taming to gunpowder farming.
- Config file (
config/friendlycreeper.json) to tune spawning, breeding, growth and gunpowder.

- Advancements: Includes 27 advancements.
How to tame
Find a wild Crep (rare, spawns in the dark in any Overworld biome). Hold out its food and approach slowly. Sneaking helps, because it gets scared if you move or turn fast.
Foods: grass, tall grass, ferns, any tree leaves, leaf litter, sweet berries and glow berries.
Each feeding has a 1-in-3 chance to tame it. Feeding a hurt tamed Crep heals it.
How to breed
- Two tamed Creps: Feed both food. They press together for about a minute and a baby is born, already tamed.
- Vanilla creepers: Feed one creeper 20 glow berries. Once two are in love, they mate and a wild baby Crep is born.
- Babies take about an hour to grow up. Feeding a baby speeds it up, with a 2-minute wait between meals.
Crafting scarves
Place 4 wool of the colour you want and one centre item in a diagonal pattern. The centre is string for a plain scarf, a gold ingot for a golden ring scarf and a diamond for a diamond scarf.
